3rd Generation Mini Cooper Convertible revealed
Mini Cooper Convertible is a hot hatch from BMW‘s Mini. Ahead of its official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015, official pictures of the Mini convertible have been released.
The revealed car is going to be the 4th model to the 3rd generation Mini line-up globally, which includes the 3-door hatchback, 5-door hatchback & Clubman. Compared to its predecessor, the all new Mini convertible is 98mm longer, 44mm wider and 7mm taller. The cloth roof is claimed to open or close in 18 seconds and speeds up to 19 mph. The roof folds and sits above the exposed section above the boot.
Safety enhancements include a single-piece roll bar extending from behind the rear seats along with sensors to detect a potential rollover.
The all new Mini Convertible will be offered in 3 different engine types – 2 petrol versions and 1 diesel version.
- The 1.5 litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine produces a power of 134 BHP
- The 2.0 litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 189 BHP
- The 1.5 litre 3-cylinder diesel engine churns out a maximum power of 114 BHP.
In India, the all new Mini Cooper convertible is expected to be launched in the year 2016.
