Crysta is the uplifted version of existing Innova that comes with lot of improvements in design and features. Here we list 5 things which you may want to know about the new Innova Crysta.
More premium with grand aesthetics
The all new Innova Crysta from Toyota costs more than the outgoing model. The ex-showroom Mumbai price of all new Toyota Innova Crysta starts at INR 13.84 lakhs and ranges till INR 20.78 lakhs for the top-trim version. The cost has been increased by INR 2.5 lakhs to INR 4.2 lakhs when compared to its predecessor. The cost of old Innova was between Rs 11.3 lakhs to Rs 16.6 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai price).
The styling of Innova Crysta has a resemblance with the earlier model of Innova and it looks very sharper and aggressive. The fascia of new Crysta is brand new with stretched-out multi-element headlights and a 3-dimensional grille. This multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) looks very attractive.
Brand new engines with 3 driving modes
The older Innova Crysta engines are now replaced with the new one. The existing 2.5-litre engine that produced 102hp and 200Nm of torque has been replaced by 2.4-litre diesel engine which churns out 150hp of power and 343Nm of torque. The engine of new Innova Crysta is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox.
There is also an option for the second engine which is a 2.8-litre diesel engine. This diesel engine of Innova Crysta produces a maximum power of 174hp and torque of 360Nm. The engine of the car is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox as standard.
The new engines offered in Innova Crysta comes with 3 driving modes – Eco, Normal and Power.
Inherits Innova’s build and gets Automatic transmission as an option
Although the Toyota Innova Crysta is a brand new car, it is fully built on the same formula as that of older version of Innova. The build of Innova Crysta is inherited from the older model.
For the very first time, the Innova Crysta gets an automatic gearbox. Innova Crysta’s 6-speed unit is paired to powerful 2.8-litre diesel engine which is made available only in mid-level GX and top ZX trims.
Gets hydraulic steering with larger wheelbase and space
Toyota continues the Innova’s hydraulic power steering setup and shares the same steering with the Fortuner and Hilux.
When it comes to dimensions, the new Innova Crysta is larger. The MPV is pretty longer, wider as well as taller than its predecessor by 150mm, 70mm and 35mm respectively. The car retains the large wheelbase of 2,750mm which is also present in the older model.
Because of the increase in the length of the car, the 2nd row passengers gets a more comfortable leg and knee room and the boot space too is big even with the third row of the car up. This is a nice MPV when it comes to space and comfort.
Emphasis on personalisation with superior interiors
The Innova Crysta tries to be more of a personal car than strictly being a people or family car. Innova Crysta tries to blur the thin lines between practical transport and personal mobility. Highlights of Innova Crysta are aggressive looks, driver-centred dashboard, improved handling, plush cabin and generous equipment list all come together to ensure that this car is less outstation-taxi and more personal car.
The new Innova Crysta gets a major interior upgrade – Although the 1st generation Innova was comfortable, when it comes to interiors – it was not so up-market. Innova Crysta solves this issue by bringing posh new interiors to this car. The seats of Innova Crysta are luxurious and comfortable. The dashboard of the car is gorgeous and is made with quality materials and textures. The finishing of new Innova Crysta is great and comes with the new touchscreen infotainment system as well as generous wood paneling.
