Tata Tiago AMT to launch during Diwali 2016
Tiago has changed fortunes for India’s popular car manufacturer – Tata Motors. With the success, now the company will be introducing AMT version of its popular Tiago hatchback by this Diwali. Tata Motors is expected to add automatic transmission to petrol variants of its Tiago.
Tiago’s automatic gearbox will be in the form of a 5-speed AMT. Already we have seen spyshots of Tata Tiago AMT. The Tata Tiago automatic would be made available only in mid-level and top-level trims and the prices should start at INR 4.6 lakhs.
The Tiago Automatic would be made available in 3 trims – XMA, XTA and XZA. The price of Tiago AMT will fall in between INR 4.60 lakhs to INR 5.50 lakhs ( depending on the trim which you choose). Tiago will take on other AMT cars in the market like Wagon R AMT which is priced at INR 5 lakhs and Celerio AMT whose price starts at INR 4.64 lakhs.
Tata Tiago AMT Mileage
The expected mileage of Tata Tiago AMT is around 22 Kmpl ( ARAI figure) which is quite similar to manual variants of Tiago.
The Tiago AMT will be offered only in petrol version and will be powered by 1.2 litre 3-cylinder engine which is capable of churning out 85 PS of maximum power and 114 Nm of maximum torque.
Tata Tiago’s bookings have crossed over 25,000 mark and more than 85% of the cars booked are for petrol version. In a special occasion, Tata Motors rolled out their 10,000th Tiago from their Sanand plant which is in Gujarat last month.
The introduction of Tiago AMT shall accelerate the sales figure of Tata Tiago.
