The all new Yamaha MT15, the 150cc motorcycle from Yamaha India generated lot of curiosity among motorcycle lovers in India. The Japanese automaker had teased MT15 on multiple occasions and the India launch of MT15 motorcycle was long-awaited. Yamaha has finally launched the Street fighter Yamaha MT15 motorcycle in India at a mouth-watering price of Rs 1.36 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi) Today.
Underneath, Yamaha MT15 hosts similar 150cc engine as that of Yamaha R15 motorcycle. While Yamaha R15 is a fully faired motorcycle, the Yamaha MT15 is a naked motorcycle. The pricing of Yamaha MT15 (Rs 1.36 lakhs) is aggressive as it gets important safety features like ABS at this price point.

Yamaha MT15 which is now available for sale across India will give head-on competition to similar category bikes in this segment like Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, TVS Apache RTR 200 and KTM Duke 125cc motorcycle.

Talking about the design of new Yamaha MT15, the motorcycle is a roadster, and gets alien face headlamp and lowered handlebar. The bike weighs less and looks bold and attractive.
Yamaha MT15 Engine and Specs
Yamaha MT15 motorcycle is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder engine which is capable of churning out 19bhp of power and can deliver peak torque of 15Nm. Variable valve actuation (VVA) system adds more performance to this roadster bike. Yamaha MT15 is mated to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox and gets slipper clutch as well.
Yamaha MT15 gets disc brakes for both wheels. MT15 gets Single-channel ABS as a standard fitment. The motorcycle is based on the Deltabox frame – like Yamaha R15.

While fine-tuning the rigidity of the pivot point of the chassis that directly receives the drive force generated by the rear wheel has been made, an ideal balance of vertical, horizontal and torsional rigidity is also achieved while a box-section steel swing arm is provided for an optimal balance of strength. All of such features present the uniqueness of quick-feeling handling, eventually facilitating the new MT15 respond exactly as the rider intends.
