Kia Motors is all set to launch the Kia Seltos, their first product in India on 22nd of August and create a slight discomfort in the compact and mid SUV segment in India. We got our hands on the Seltos and here is what we will inform you about the Kia Seltos.
The Seltos comes in two trims, the GT and the HT line.
Design (Exterior)
The Kia Seltos puts on a commanding look upfront sporting Kia’s signature Tiger nose grille with LED Headlamps and DRLs running from the corner to the centre of the grille. Vertically placed ice cube fog lamps, trapezoid air dams upfront come with red accents on the GT Line.
Move to the side and you notice the squared off wheel arches and body cladding running all around the car. Kia offers Diamond cut and Gun meal 17 inch alloys for GT and HT variants respectively. Subtle Chrome strips from the windowsill running up to the end of the quarter panel gives the Seltos a premium look.
The rear looks rather wide and LED lamps continue at the back as well. A spoiler, thick chrome strip, a skid plate and faux exhausts complete the rear look of the Seltos. The GT line also gets red accents on the rear bumper, adding to the sporty nature of the Seltos.
Design (Interior)
The Kia Seltos comes with 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system with a ton of features. 8.0 inch heads display, leather wrapped flat bottom steering wheel and 7-inch instrument cluster highlight the interior. The GT line also comes with red stitches on the seats, gear lever cover and arm rests.
Split screen reverse camera, indicator cameras, tyre pressure monitor, aluminium pedals, UVO connectivity, Sound mood interior lightings and an air purifier are a few more to mention among a packed feature list.
Engine options and variants
The Seltos comes with 3 engine options, the 1.5 Litre Diesel, 1.5 Litre Petrol and a 1.4 Litre Turbo Petrol. The 1.5 litre Diesel packs 115PS of power and 250Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission options.

Editor notes
Seltos deserves the Best-looking SUV tag. Complementing to design, the quality of product, overall drive-ability and stability which it offers is mind blowing. The Headsup display (HUD) is a game-changer here. A mid-SUV offering so many features at this price point is pretty surprising.
Be it Sunroof, 360 degree camera, Air purifier, UVO connectivity, DCT engine and wide variety of engine options (diesel, petrol, automatic , manual), drive modes, space and comfort, build quality, safety, practicality – it ticks all the boxes. The Kia SELTOS definitely stands out from regular SUVs which you currently see in the Indian car market.
