KTM, the world’s No. 1 and India’s fastest growing premium motorcycle brand, announced the launch of the next-gen 2022 KTM RC 390 today. Bookings commence at KTM showrooms across the country for the bike, which is priced at Rs. 3,13,922 (Ex-showroom Delhi).

The KTM RC 390 has been a popular Supersport model in the KTM range since 2014. The latest model now boasts true race-derived design, chassis and high-end electronics seen only in liter-class motorcycles. With notable Grand Prix inspired electronics like Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), Quickshifter+, Lean-Angle Sensitive Cornering ABS, SUPERMOTO mode, and a TFT display, the next gen 2022 KTM RC 390 is ready to charge out of the pitlane and take the podium.

Here’s a look at the other new features of the next-gen 2022 KTM RC 390:

  • Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC)
  • Quickshifter+ as standard
  • Lean-Angle sensitive Cornering ABS
  • Dual-Channel ABS with SUPERMOTO mode
  • TFT multicolor display with KTM MY RIDE
  •  Power assisted anti-hopping slipper clutch – PASCTM
  • 373cc state-of-the-art, single cylinder, 4-valve, liquid cooled, DOHC engine
  • Race derived design with split-steel trellis frame
  • WP APEX USD forks and WP APEX adjustable monoshock
  • Dependable BYBRE brakes with 320mm and 280 mm discs with dual-channel ABS
  • Larger 13.7 Liter fuel tank for excellent range
  • Handlebar with 2-step height adjust
  • LED Headlamps, tail lamps and integrated LED blinkers
  • Kerb weight of 172 kg
  • Fresh new graphics and new colors – KTM Factory racing blue and KTM Orange

Sumeet Narang, President (Probiking), Bajaj Auto Ltd.:

“The fully-faired KTM RC motorcycles have a significant and growing contribution to the KTM portfolio. With this slew of upgrades, the next-gen KTM RC 390 is set to extend its lead in the premium performance motorcycle segment, bringing real racetrack-inspired DNA to the streets. The 2022 KTM RC 390 is equipped with class-leading electronics for racing enthusiasts to achieve better lap-times. KTM Pro-XP, which currently has curated pro-experience programs for the KTM’s Street and Adventure range, will soon see the addition of an exclusive multi-city KTM RC track racing property as well. This multi-city track property will give KTM owners a platform to race and experience the true potential of the KTM RC 390 on racetracks across India.”

More about the next gen KTM RC 390, 2022:

The instantly noticeable update across the board is the Grand Prix-inspired styling, which sees almost every panel being redesigned, boasting race-inspired lines and two new colorways that clearly define the sporty character of this motorcycle.

This redesign has been done to not only give the RC 390 a striking visual presence but to optimize aerodynamics due to its now higher top speeds, thanks in part to a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) design process. This new design also features wind and weather protection, with enhanced heat management provided by a combination of inner and outer body panels to direct airflow away from the rider.

The rear bodywork has been substantially reduced for a more aggressive profile, while also showcasing the redesigned steel trellis subframe.

Since the next-gen KTM RC 390 is a true sport bike, special care has been taken to improve its overall ergonomics. The knee area is now ergonomically developed to allow for easier, more fluid rider movement—being as narrow as possible with the largest possible contact area.

An all-new, two-part cockpit and windscreen holder features a cast aluminum upper area and a lower composite part that secures the headlight, while a larger 13.7-liter fuel tank has been added for improved day-to-day riding comfort and fuel range.

The next gen KTM RC 390 was developed with a focus on weight saving, particularly throughout the chassis. An all-new bionic wheel design, hollow front axle and new ByBre braking system accounts to considerable unsprung weight saving over the previous generation. The frame, too, has undergone the knife with massive weight savings.

In addition, the suspension has undergone a major refresh, with open cartridge WP APEX upside-down front forks and a WP APEX rear shock absorber, which offers pre-load adjustment.

The KTM RC 390 is powered by a 373cc state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine with twin overhead camshafts, four valves and electronic fuel injection. For 2022, the torque delivery is improved compared to previous models thanks to the new, 40% bigger airbox. The new engine mapping contributes to the increased torque and overall rideability.

Riders can also add the KTM MY RIDE navigation app to the KTM RC 390 through the new TFT color display, which allows them to access important information at a glance with the added flexibility of being able to tailor the display. Moreover, the display automatically adapts its brightness to the ambient light.

Highlights

  • · Race Ready Electronics: Motorcycle Traction Control (Mtc), Cornering Abs, Quickshifter+, Tft Display
  • · 2 New Colorways – Ktm Factory Racing Blue; Ktm Orange
  • · Priced at Rs. 3.14 Lacs (Esr Delhi).
