India’s most desirable luxury automotive brand Mercedes-Benz today announced the start of local production of the much-awaited all-new Long Wheelbase (LWB) E-Class. Mercedes-Benz rolled out the most advanced E-Class till date in India, from the assembly line of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune; underlining the company’s pioneering spirit and commitment to ‘Make in India, for India’. The New LWB E-Class in its sixth generation will make its India debut on 9-October, 2024 creating a gold standard in the luxury car segment, with its first-class luxury cabin, unmatched personalization and interactivity options achieved with cutting-edge technology onboard, and state-of-art safety equipment synonymous with Mercedes-Benz.
Local production of the all-new LWB E-Class:
Local production of the all-new LWB E-Class showcases stringent global quality standards of Mercedes-Benz. It is the continuous and seamless transfer of knowledge between ‘E-Class production competence centre’ in Sindelfingen, Germany and the talented Indian operations in Pune, that results in achieving benchmark in quality and production excellence. The increasing trend towards digitization and customization is very well demonstrated in the local production of the new LWB E-Class. Assembly of numerous technological innovations together, including the sophisticated MBUX as well as high-end safety and digital assistance systems means, every vehicle running off the production line in India is exceptional.

- The new bodyshop automated line for rear floor is setting the highest standards of quality, precision, and efficiency. With cutting-edge robotics, intelligent automation and state-of-the-art joining technologies, Mercedes-Benz sets benchmark for the body shop production in the Indian manufacturing ecosystem.
- The center airbag introduced in the all-new E-Class can protect the driver and front passenger from colliding, in the event of a side collision. It is installed in the seat cushion on the driver’s seat and is triggered in the event of a collision.
- The car is equipped with the best-in-class MBUX Super-screen with latest technology having 2 stage blocking system for the passenger screen allowing the driver, a seamless driving experience while the front passenger can enjoy gaming, TV Programs, video streaming: allowing the front passenger their own personal display and control area.
