Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Limited, a leading manufacturer of electric two- and three-wheelers in India, has officially launched the E-Luna Prime. This purpose-built electric mobility solution is specifically engineered for India’s massive commuter motorcycle segment. Building on the remarkable success of the original E-Luna, which has sold over 25,000 units since its launch a few months ago, the E-Luna Prime is customized to be an affordable yet aspirational and reliable personal transportation solution for both urban and rural environments.

Kinetic E Luna Prime

Engineered for Bharat’s Growth and Affordability

The E-Luna Prime is positioned as a true catalyst for ‘Bharat’s growth story,’ targeting nearly 75 crore Indians—about 50% of the population—who currently do not own a two-wheeler. It is strategically positioned against the popular 100cc and 110cc Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) motorcycles, offering significant financial advantages.

The most compelling advantage of the E-Luna Prime is its unmatched affordability:

  • Ultra-Low Running Cost: Just 10 paise per kilometer.
  • Total Monthly Ownership Cost: Approximately ₹2,500 (including EMI and running expenses).
  • Annual Savings: Consumers can save up to ₹60,000 annually on long-term mobility costs compared to conventional ICE models.

In stark contrast, the ownership cost of a conventional petrol two-wheeler is estimated at ₹7,500 per month, comprising ₹2,200 for EMI and ₹5,300 for fuel and maintenance expenses.

Performance, Features, and Utility

The E-Luna Prime is designed for enhanced riding experience and superior comfort. It is engineered to handle all terrains, featuring rugged 16-inch alloy wheels that provide exceptional stability and durability on challenging roads.

The Prime model introduces significant design and functionality upgrades:

  • Design & Aesthetics: Features include a bright LED Headlamp, a sporty comfortable single seat, stylized digital colored instrumental cluster, effective front visor, trendy rim tape, contemporary body decals, silver finish side cladding, and reliable tubeless tyres.
  • Multi-Utility Functionality: Beyond commuting, the E-Luna Prime doubles as a multi-utility vehicle capable of serving diverse needs, including cargo, business operations, and utility services. It includes a spacious front-loading area for carrying goods, a practical feature largely absent in conventional motorcycles.

The E-Luna Prime is offered in two variants with claimed ranges of 110 km and 140 km. It is priced at ₹82,490 (ex-showroom). The vehicle is available in six distinct colors through Kinetic Green’s established network of over 300 dealerships across the country.

Vision for Sustainable Mobility

Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, expressed her delight at the launch, noting that the E-Luna Prime embodies the company’s commitment to transforming personal mobility in India. She highlighted that the E-Luna Prime, with its ₹2,500 monthly ownership cost proposition, is the result of extensive consumer research to create the most affordable yet aspirational solution for the commuter segment.

Kinetic Green, led by Dr. Motwani, a third-generation scion of the Firodia family, is focused on building a robust pan-India EV ecosystem with a vision to democratize electric mobility and reduce carbon emissions. The company is further strengthening its position in the EV sector, having recently secured a $25 million Series A funding round from UK-based PE fund, Greater Pacific Capital.
