Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover Price Drops to ₹1.49 Lakh With Innovative Battery Flex Program

Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer Ultraviolette has announced a new initiative to make its X-47 crossover more accessible to riders. Launched on March 5, 2026, the company introduced ‘Battery Flex’, an innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model.

This new offering significantly lowers the barrier to EV entry, allowing customers to own the Ultraviolette X-47 at a starting price of just ₹1,49,000.

How the Battery Flex Model Works

To make this ownership model possible, Ultraviolette has partnered with Ecofy, a green-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC) specializing in climate-positive adoption. Under the Battery Flex model, buyers pay for the motorcycle chassis upfront while financing the battery through a separate, steady monthly subscription.

New Ultraviolette X47 Battery Flex Option Price

The battery subscription begins at ₹2,499 per month. According to Ultraviolette CEO and Co-founder Narayan Subramaniam, this monthly operating cost is lower than average petrol expenses, redefining affordability in the motorcycling segment. He also noted that previously, at ₹2.5 lakh, the motorcycle was at price parity with similarly powered internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles. Now, at ₹1.5 lakh, riders gain access to superior technology and performance.

Key Benefits of Battery Flex

  • Reduced Upfront Cost: The Battery Flex program lowers the initial investment required to own an Ultraviolette X-47 by 40%.
  • Long-Term Warranty: The subscription includes a 5-year warranty on the battery pack.
  • Ownership Transfer: At the end of the subscription term, battery ownership is transferred entirely to the customer at no additional cost.

The Battery Flex model highlights Ultraviolette’s commitment to building technology that adapts to customer needs, ensuring that their years of battery R&D reach a wider audience.
