Mercedes-Benz Expands CLA BEV Lineup in India with New Standard Range Variant
Mercedes-Benz India has announced the addition of a new variant for its upcoming CLA BEV launch. Incorporating direct customer feedback, the luxury automaker will introduce the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ alongside the previously anticipated CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ model.

Variant Specifications and Range
To cater to diverse customer preferences in styling and driving requirements, Mercedes-Benz is offering two distinct configurations:
- CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’: This variant comes with the sporty AMG Line trim and boasts an impressive WLTP range of 792 kms.
- CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’: Featuring ‘Progressive Line’ styling, this variant includes comfort seats, a multifunction sports leather steering wheel, and two trim options. It delivers a WLTP range of 542 kms.

Despite the differences in battery range and styling packages, Mercedes-Benz maintains its commitment to high product substance by keeping the standard equipment levels similar across both the CLA 200 and CLA 250+ variants.

Charging Infrastructure and Battery Architecture
Built on an advanced 800 V architecture, the CLA BEV supports ultra-fast charging capabilities.

- The CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ can add 400 kms of charge in just 20 minutes when using a 240 kW DC fast charger.
- The CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ can add 320 kms of charge in 20 minutes using a 240 kW DC charger, with its maximum DC charging speed capped at 200 kW.

To mitigate range anxiety for drivers of both variants, Mercedes-Benz offers a fast-charging ecosystem with access to over 9,000 charging points via MB.CHARGE Public. Additionally, the intelligent navigation system powered by the MBUX Virtual Assistant will help drivers optimize their charging stops during long trips.

For home use, customers can purchase a 22 kW standard ‘Mercedes-Benz wall box’ for Rs. 50,000. This price includes installation and pairs with the intuitive ‘Mercedes me’ app.
