Renault Group Unveils ‘futuREady India’ to Power Next Phase of International Growth

On April 16, 2026, Renault Group officially launched its ambitious “futuREady India” strategy. Introduced during a week-long visit to Chennai by François Provost, CEO of Renault Group, the initiative serves as the local execution of the broader global “futuREady” plan unveiled in March 2026.

With the Indian automotive market expanding rapidly, Renault aims to make India one of its top three global markets by the year 2030. This strategic pivot is not only about capturing domestic market share but also about transforming the country into a cornerstone of the Group’s global value chain.

The Four Pillars of the futuREady Vision

To ensure long-term competitiveness in a highly unpredictable global automotive landscape, Renault Group has structured its new vision around four foundational pillars: “growth-ready”, “tech-ready”, “excellence-ready”, and “trust-ready”. India plays a central role across all of these categories.

The broader global growth plan encompasses 36 launches designed to accelerate momentum in high-potential markets, particularly India and South America. Currently, India accounts for more than one-third (34%) of the Total Industry Volume (TIV) growth across the markets where Renault operates.

A Historic Product Offensive: Seven Models by 2030

To achieve its ambitious targets, Renault Group is entering its largest-ever product renewal cycle in the Indian market.

  • By 2030, Renault will expand its Indian portfolio to feature seven distinct multi-energy models.
  • The lineup will cover key automotive segments, ranging from compact cars to larger SUVs.
  • These vehicles will feature a full spectrum of electrified powertrains, including strong hybrids and fully electric vehicles.
  • Four entirely new vehicles are scheduled to join the lineup to reach the final seven-model target.
  • The models will be designed specifically for local market requirements, utilizing next-generation digital and electronic architectures.

Bridger Concept and the All-New Duster

As part of the strategy rollout, the automaker highlighted key models that will drive this volume. The Renault Duster, which was unveiled in January 2026, is already generating strong enthusiasm among Indian buyers. Furthermore, Renault showcased the “Bridger Concept,” previewing a new B-segment compact SUV.

  • The Bridger Concept is a true multi-energy vehicle that boasts best-in-class efficiency.
  • It will include a fully electric variant.
  • Renault intends to commence production of this new model in India during the second half of next year.

Advanced Platforms

The upcoming vehicle portfolio will be underpinned by two highly versatile and complementary platforms: the Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP) and the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP).

  • These platforms will be deployed first in the Indian market.
  • They are engineered with a multi-energy approach to accommodate internal combustion engines, hybrids, and electric powertrains, adapting to varying consumer needs.
  • For markets outside of Europe, Renault is targeting 50% electrified sales by 2030, a goal heavily reliant on its E-Tech full hybrid technology.

“India for the World”: A Strategic Export and Tech Hub

Renault’s vision extends far beyond local sales, emphasizing a philosophy of “India for the world”. The strategy focuses heavily on leveraging India’s engineering prowess and manufacturing competitiveness.

Manufacturing and Export Goals

  • Renault Group recently assumed full ownership of its Chennai manufacturing facility, a plant originally established in 2008 alongside alliance partner Nissan.
  • The facility will act as a strategic export hub for vehicles, components, and associated services, particularly catering to regions like South America.
  • The Group has set an ambitious target to generate €2 billion in annual exports by 2030 across vehicles, components, and R&D.
  • Deepening its localized approach, the company aims to optimize its end-to-end supply chain and will also produce three new models for Nissan at the Chennai plant.

Engineering and Technology Excellence

  • India currently stands as a major source of innovation for the automaker.
  • The engineering center in Chennai is one of the Group’s largest globally, housing 6,000 engineers and IT specialists.
  • These teams are dedicated to vehicle architecture, software development, simulation, and vehicle lifecycle upgrades.
  • This center will now take on an elevated role, developing platforms and technologies not just for India, but for global markets as well.

Enhancing Customer Trust and Experience

To stand out in a highly competitive market, Renault aims to foster lasting relationships with Indian consumers through enhanced service quality and a streamlined customer journey.

  • The brand is launching the “Renault Forever” initiative to build these trusted relationships.
  • As a cornerstone of this commitment, Indian customers will benefit from a comprehensive 7-year warranty.
  • Renault’s robust Indian ecosystem currently includes 15,000 employees.
  • The commercial footprint spans over 350 sales touchpoints and more than 450 service centers across the country.
  • The localized supply chain is supported by nearly 130 local suppliers.

By integrating advanced onboard technologies, adopting a higher value-added positioning, and capitalizing on localized manufacturing, Renault Group is cementing India’s decisive role in its global growth story over the next decade.
