TVS iQube S 4.7kWh Battery Variant Launched in India

The electric two-wheeler market has witnessed a significant update as the TVS iQube S has been launched in India with a larger 4.7 kWh battery pack. This new addition from TVS to the lineup gives the electric scooter a substantial boost in its claimed riding range, catering to riders who demand more distance between charges.

Priced competitively at Rs. 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the upgraded iQube S aims to solidify its position in the premium family scooter segment. Below is a detailed look at the top highlights and specifications of the newly launched variant.

Upgraded Battery and Extended Range

The primary highlight of the new TVS iQube S is its power source. The scooter is now equipped with a high-capacity 4.7kWh battery. Thanks to this larger battery pack, the new iQube S delivers a claimed IDC-certified range of 175km on a single charge.

This marks a considerable improvement over the 145km range offered by the outgoing 3.5kWh model. TVS has introduced this larger battery pack to make the scooter more appealing to commuters who regularly cover longer distances and want fewer charging stops during the week.

Powertrain and Performance Specifications

While the battery capacity has seen a major upgrade, the core propulsion system remains familiar.

  • The TVS iQube S continues to use the same hub-mounted electric motor that produces 4.4kW of peak power.
  • Performance-wise, TVS claims a top speed of 82kmph for the electric scooter.
  • The 0-40kmph sprint comes up in a brisk 4.3 seconds, ensuring quick acceleration for city traffic.

Design, Visual Appeal, and Practical Features

The iQube S continues to feature a clean and family-oriented design language. However, TVS has also refreshed the visual appeal of the scooter by introducing two new dual-tone colour options – Purple Beige and Blue Beige. Apart from these fresh colour additions, the overall styling and bodywork remain unchanged.

When it comes to technology and convenience, the scooter is well-equipped.

  • Feature highlights include a large TFT display with smartphone connectivity.
  • The digital console provides riders with turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, and music controls.
  • It also includes USB charging support to keep devices powered on the go.
  • In terms of utility, the scooter offers 32 litres of underseat storage, which continues to be one of its practical features.

Chassis and Hardware Components

Accommodating a larger battery naturally impacts the weight of the vehicle. The addition of the larger battery pack has resulted in a slight increase in the kerb weight, which now stands at 128.8kg.

Despite the weight increase, the core structural components and hardware have been carried over from the standard version. Cycle parts remain unchanged and include telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. The scooter rolls on 12-inch wheels, and the braking setup comprises a front disc and a rear drum brake to handle stopping duties.
