All you need to know about Chevrolet Essentia
We noticed a new car at Delhi Auto Expo 2016 – the all new Chevrolet Essentia. Essentia from Chevrolet is essentially a new compact sedan which is based on new-generation beat platform. The Chevrolet Essentia made its first ever international debut at the 2016 Auto Expo and the company has also revealed that launch of Essentia shall happen in the year 2017. The all new Essentia compact sedan would be manufactured in General Motors’ Talegaon plant in the state of Maharashtra.
When it comes to design, Chevrolet Essentia’s front is a very close replica of the new-generation Beat/Spark. The sleek front grille of the Essentia comes with the golden bowtie logo and also the car gets a very large lower grille with chrome surround makes – that very much looks like a smiley face. The headlamps of the Chevrolet Essentia are pulled back and the bonnet lines are very similar to what we had seen on the current Beat as well.
When it comes to the exteriors, The rear end of Chevrolet Essentia would show a glimpse of Chevrolet Optra, with a chrome strip which is running across.
The interiors of Chevrolet Essentia is shared with new-gen Chevrolet Beat. The Essentia comes in 2 different interior trims – one being the tan and the other being the beige. The new interior colors are different from the regular black and beige styling.
The instrument panel of the Essentia consists of a 3-spoke steering wheel with audio controls, the instrument cluster could also be adjusted with the steering wheel, a 7-inch touchscreen system, 3 knobs to control the air-con and sufficient stowage space on the inside.
When coming to the space, the rear seats of Essentia car gets a very good enough space and this is despite no increase in the wheelbase length. The Essentia has good space at the rear and the boot size too is large enough.The Essentia can be easily considered as spacious compact sedan. General Motors’ Chevrolet has not revealed any details about the engines it will be made available with.
The Essentia is likely to come with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.0-litre diesel engine, these are the engines that are already powering the current Beat. There will be a five-speed manual transmission.
The expected date of Chevrolet Essentia is during the year 2017. The new Chevrolet Essentia would be launched in the year 2017. The Chevrolet Essentia will directly take on its rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Hyundai XCent, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and the Ford Figo Aspire.
