Maruti Suzuki, India’s major car manufacturer has announced the successor to its popular small segment car Alto K10. The new vehicle will not be a plain successor to its predecessor, but will be an ‘enhanced’ version which will incorporate/offer users both ‘Automatic’ and ‘manual’ transmissions.
The new Alto K10 will have both petrol and CNG variants and these versions will be launched within October itself.
Like its predecessor Alto K10, the ‘enhanced’ Alto K10 will fall into the category of ‘affordable ‘cars targeted exclusively at the urban middle-class buyer in India.
According to an India Today report, the new Alto K10 cars are already being demoed in Maruti Suzuki’s plant in India.
These cars were found to have a similar design pattern as that of Maruti Suzuki’s Alto 800, and the new Alto K10 cars will be offered in the LX, LXi, VXi and VXi(O) 5-speed manual transmission model variants, and in the LXi and VXi Automatic cum Manual transmission (AMT) variants.
Maruti Suzuki’s enhanced Alto K10 is said to offer a maximum of 67bhp power and 89.27Nm torque.
The Indian brand’s earlier AMT car, the Celerio is considered as a success in India, and the car is priced at Rs 5,00,000 (approximate ex-showroom price).
Finally, like the current-gen Alto K10, the enhanced Alto K10 will also have a hatchback designing and outer finish.
