Expect these New Cars at Auto Expo 2016 in India
We are just a month away from Auto Expo 2016 – literally a big festival for auto enthusiasts in India. Auto Expo events are held once in two years in India. One can book tickets for Auto Expo 2016 event which is scheduled to happen between February 5 to February 9 at New Delhi. Expo is a great platform for the auto industry that provides an opportunity for one to explore the forth-coming developments in auto domain – specific to cars and bikes.
Here we list some of the new cars that could be showcased during Auto Expo 2016 in India:
2016 Jaguar XE
XE is the smallest offering from Jaguar which is aimed at capturing wider audience by the car maker. The 2016 Jaguar XE, although is an attractive offering for consumers, it has to battle a bit with its potential long-term rivals like BMW 3 series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class which exists in this segment.
Ford Mustang
For the very first time, Ford’s production Mustang is planning right hand drive car as it could enter different markets across the globe. In addition to heritage, Ford is adding plenty of modern tech to its new Mustang. Other than getting 2.3-litre turbocharged Ecoboost engine unit, the Mustang would be getting a 5.0-litre V8 and a 3.7-litre V6 unit with a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearboxes.
Mercedes-Benz Concept GLC Coupe
The Concept GLC Coupe is Mercedes Benz’s new luxury crossover that also comes with interiors of a sedan and charisma of an SUV. The GLC-Class is primarily aimed at Volvo XC60, BMW X3, Porsche Macan, Audi Q5, as well as the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
New 2016 Toyota Innova
The all new India-bound Toyota Innova was first launched in Indonesia. Also the 2nd generation MPV ( Multi Purpose Vehicle) is expected to be launched in India later this year. In India, the all new Innova is expected to come in both petrol as well as diesel engines. New Innova is expected to be priced between Rs 13.59 lakhs to Rs 20.43 lakhs.

Honda BR-V
BR-V from Honda made its first global debut at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2015.
The car is scheduled to be marketed first in Indonesia in early 2016. BR-V which is a seven-seater SUV from Honda is expected to be the first direct competition to Maruti S-Cross.
The all new Honda BR-V is approximately between Rs 10.83lakhs to Rs 12.50 lakh and is likely available in both petrol and diesel variants.

Tata Hexa
Showcasing the Tata Hexa concept would also mark Tata Motors’ entry into the SUV segment. Talking about the dimensions of the car, the Hexa measures 4764mm x 1895mm x 1780mm, and the car’s overall design is similar to that of Aria.
It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 13-18 lakhs in India.
Tata Nexon
Tata Nexon would mark Tata Motors’ entry into the compact SUV segment in India. The car’s official launch is expected during the end of 2016. The Nexon has been codenamed as X104. Tata Nexon which is a sub 4-meter SUV is expected to be powered by 4-cylinder petrol as well as diesel engines.
Chevrolet Spin / Essentia
Chevrolet Spin which is expected to get a new name Essentia is a premium 7-seater MPV that is here to replace Chevrolet Enjoy. Spin / Essentia from Chevrolet will be made available only with a diesel engine. The car targets premium MPV buyer and would be priced between Rs 9 lakhs to 13 lakhs (on-road price). The Essentia will be manufactured in the company’s Halol plant in Gujarat and GM will be looking at exporting this as well.

Datsun Redi GO
The all new Datsun Redi GO combines the practicality of a 5-door hatchback with rugged SUV appearance. The car has been codenamed as i2 and is expected to be priced between Rs 2.9-4.9 lakhs. Also, the common engine made by Renault-Nissan Alliance is likely to power Redi GO. The car’s engine platform is being fully developed in India with Nissan’s V-Platform (which is used in other Nissan models like Micra & Sunny) and the K2 platform products (used by Datsun Go & Go+) as the base.

Datsun GO Cross
The GO Cross concept which was first showcased in 2015 Tokyo Motor Show is expected to enter production in both India and Indonesia. The GO Cross from Datsun is based on India’s highly localised low-cost platform – Also the GO Cross is going to take on its competitor Ford EcoSport. The car is based on GO+ MPV platform.

Maruti Brezza
Maruti Suzuki Brezza is the another upcoming micro SUV from Maruti Suzuki’s huge portfolio. Brezza will be completely based on XA Alpha concept and is very likely to make its India debut at Auto Expo 2016. Brezza from Maruti Suzuki is expected to be priced between Rs 4.99 lakhs to Rs 8.5 lakhs and will be launched in April 2016.
Some of the expected features of Brezza include – reverse parking camera, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and airbags.
Maruti Ignis
Codenamed as YJC, Ignis is Maruti Suzuki India’s micro SUV that is likely to be launched in September 2016. The car is going to debuted at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, and will be priced between Rs 4.5 lakhs to Rs 6.5 lakhs. Maruti Ignis measures 3679mm x 1579mm x 1478mm in dimension.
