Hyundai Elite i20 Automatic Launch to happen soon
Since its launch in the year 2014, Hyundai Elite 20 has seen a phenomenal success. In a very little time, Hyundai‘s Elite i20 became the bestselling hatchback in its segment. The Hyundai Elite i20 boasts of best-in-class features, power and looks. What is missing in Elite i20? Only one thing – the automatic transmission gearbox. Hyundai Elite i20 is currently offered only in manual transmission gearbox and the South Korean automaker wants to change this by introducing the automatic transmission soon.
When launched with automatic transmission, Hyundai Elite i20 hatchback will be competing against its rivals like Volkswagen Polo GT, Maruti Baleno, and Honda Jazz. This will result in Elite i20 Automatic to become the best selling hatchback in the automatic car market as well.
Already there are reports which has revealed that Elite i20 will be introduced in two different automatic variants. The existing Magna, Sports or Asta model is expected to get the automatic transmission gearbox. This automatic variant of Hyundai i20 will be in Indian market in couple of months time (September? The Festive season in India)
Hyundai is not keen in brining the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), and wants to push ahead with fully automatic transmission for all of its car instead.
For us, AMT is still a transient technology. We would like to continue with only two gearbox options — manual and fully-automatic.

Hyundai Elite i20 Automatic Specs
The automatic variant of Hyundai Elite i20 will be very likely getting the 1.2-litre petrol engine which is capable of churning out 83PS of power and a maximum torque of 115Nm ( which is same as Grand i10 engine). The Elite i20 could be also getting the 1.4L automatic unit that will be made available in global market, especially in the European markets.
