Rakesh Srivastava, Senior vice president of sales and marketing , Hyundai India said “Hyundai Santro cars are most preferred car in the Indian taxi segment reason being low cost of acquisition and low cost of operation. To build on this segment, Hyundai will be introducing i10 as a taxi option so as to provide taxi providers with more choice”
If we can observe trends in the taxi industry, TaxiForSure, The Indian Cab operator recently have had more than 100 Tata Nano cars for its operations in and around Bangalore.
To be compliant in Cab market, The cars have to be equipped with CNG (Compressed natural gas ). To meet this demand Hyundai is offering CNG option in order to comply with Cab market guidelines. The CNG Kit in Hyundai would be retro-fitted instead of factory fit.As Santro is departing from Indian market, Interesting to see Hyundai i10 is making an arrival into the Taxi segment.
