Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), country’s first smart mobility solutions provider and largest exporter since inception, today showcased convenient, confident and cutting-edge Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS features that will be introduced on Hyundai IONIQ 5. With 21 Level 2 ADAS features, Hyundai IONIQ 5 will deliver a smart and intuitive driving experience.

Commenting on announcement, Mr. Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said,

Earlier in 2022, we introduced Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS functionality to India and Hyundai IONIQ 5 will become the second model in our line-up to present this smart and intuitive technology to our customers. DRIVING CONFIDENCE

With safety tech that always looks ahead, Hyundai IONIQ 5 makes sure every drive is confident and reliable, delivering a smooth and smart mobility experience. Hyundai SmartSense uses equipment such as Front Radar, Front Camera and Rear Radars to detect and mitigate risks of collision, offering the driver adequate warning and if necessary, automatically applying countermeasures to offset an impact. Hyundai IONIQ 5 has been designed to deliver utmost care, with inclusion of features such as Safe Exit Assist (SEA) that helps avoid collisions with a rear side vehicle when exiting. If an approaching car is detected from the rear side as you open your door, SEA provides a warning. SEA also helps keep the door closed through electronic child lock. Hyundai IONIQ 5 has been equipped with multiple driving safety Level 2 ADAS features such as –

  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist – Car (FCA-Car)
  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist – Pedestrian (FCA-Ped)
  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist – Cycle (FCA-Cyl)
  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist – Junction Turning (FCA-JT)
  • Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW)
  • Bling-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  • Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
  • Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)
  • Safe Exit Warning (SEW)
  • Safe Exit Assist (SEA)

Designed to deliver a superlative mobility experience, Hyundai IONIQ 5 incorporates Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS features that help make commutes easier by safely taking over tedious parts of driving. With the integration of smart and intuitive technology, Hyundai IONIQ 5 allows you to make the most of every drive offering Level 2 ADAS features such as –

  • Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC w/ S&G)
  • Lane Following Assist (LFA)
  • High Beam Assist (HBA)
  • Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA)

SAFE & CONVENIENT PARKING

With SmartSense, Hyundai IONIQ 5 makes parking in and out of any space a safe and easy operation. Incorporating thoughtfully developed features, Hyundai IONIQ 5 helps drivers deal with hassles of parking by monitoring and even mitigating potential collisions from rear cross traffic. Hyundai IONIQ 5 even offers features like Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) that monitors the rear doors opening and closing so nothing is accidentally left behind inside the car. When you stop, turn off the vehicle and open your door to exit, ROA will display a “Check rear Seats” warning message on the digital instrument cluster. Hyundai IONIQ 5 will be equipped with the following parking safety functions –

  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision- Avoidance Assist
  • Surround View Monitor
  • Rear Occupant Alert
