Key Innovations on Display

Mahindra’s showcase highlighted three pioneering technologies developed at the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, positioning the company at the forefront of India’s farm mechanization evolution.

1. CNG/CBG Tractor

Built on the popular Yuvo Tech+ platform, this tractor offers versatility by running on both Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Compressed Biogas (CBG), as well as duel fuel (Diesel-CNG).

  • Benefit: It delivers diesel-comparable power and performance while significantly reducing emissions and operating costs for farmers.

2. Electric Tractor (OJA Platform)

Mahindra introduced its electric tractor built on the global lightweight OJA platform.

  • Performance: The tractor promises instant torque delivery, zero emissions, and reduced operating costs.
  • Features: It comes with flexible charging options, including fast charging, to minimize downtime and boost productivity.

3. Ethanol Flex Fuel Engine

A major step toward energy independence, the Ethanol Flex Fuel Tractor Engine is capable of running on ethanol blends.

  • Source: The fuel can be derived from agricultural sources like sugarcane, maize, and crop waste, directly benefiting the farming ecosystem and aligning with the government’s vision for energy self-reliance.

Leadership Speak

Mr. Veejay Nakra, President of the Farm Equipment Business at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., stated,

“Mahindra is committed to leading India’s shift to alternate fuel technologies… Our presence at Agrovision 2025 underscores this commitment as we showcase innovative tractors and technologies that will shape the future of Indian agriculture, aligned with the Government of India’s vision toward achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070.”
