Mahindra XUV 7XO Launched in India: A Bold Evolution of the XUV700

Mahindra has officially launched the long-awaited XUV 7XO in the Indian market with a starting price of Rs. 13.66 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model serves as a comprehensive facelift for the outgoing XUV700, introducing significant design shifts, advanced digitalization, and a modernized equipment list.

To maintain exclusivity, the introductory pricing is valid only for the first 40,000 units. Mahindra has already commenced bookings both online and at authorized dealerships for a token amount of Rs. 21,000. Deliveries for the SUV are scheduled to begin on January 14, 2026.

The exterior of the XUV 7XO moves away from the traditional XUV700 styling, drawing inspiration from Mahindra’s latest electric vehicle lineup. Key updates include:

  • Front Fascia: A revised grille featuring eight vertical slats, complemented by reworked LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) and projector headlamps.
  • Side Profile: While maintaining the familiar silhouette, the SUV now features newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels.
  • Rear Design: Inverted L-shaped LED tail lamps connected by a full-width light bar and a redesigned bumper with an integrated skid plate.


Revolutionized Interior and Technology

The cabin of the XUV 7XO represents a major leap in digitalization for Mahindra’s internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. It shares its electronic architecture with the XEV 9e and 9S models.

The Triple-Screen Dashboard The centerpiece of the interior is a triple-screen setup, consisting of:

  1. A 12.3-inch fully digital driver display.
  2. A 12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen.
  3. A 12.3-inch dedicated entertainment screen for the front passenger.

  • Audio: A 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system delivering 1,400 W output with Dolby Atmos support.
  • Connectivity: The latest Adrenox+ interface with in-car theatre mode and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) functionality for rear passengers.
  • Comfort: Dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an electrically adjustable Boss Mode for the front passenger seat.

Under the bonnet, Mahindra continues to rely on its proven engine lineup, though with refined tuning for better ride comfort.

  • 2.0L mStallion Turbo Petrol: Produces approximately 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque.
  • 2.2L mHawk Diesel: Delivers up to 185 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
  • Transmission: Both engines are available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
  • AWD System: The All-Wheel-Drive option is retained exclusively for select high-end diesel variants.

Safety and Assistance The SUV debuts a new 540-degree camera system for enhanced situational awareness. It is also equipped with a refreshed Level 2 ADAS suite, including adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and automatic emergency braking.
