Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Achieves 5-Star Safety Rating in Bharat NCAP: A New Benchmark for Electric SUVs

Maruti Suzuki has achieved a significant milestone with its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e-Vitara, securing a prestigious 5-star safety rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP). This certification marks the company’s fourth consecutive 5-star rating, joining the ranks of the All-New Dzire, Grand Vitara, and Invicto in its portfolio.

The certificate was presented by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, underscoring the vehicle’s role as a “Made-in-India, Made-for-the-World” product destined for export to over 100 countries.

Engineered for Safety: The HEARTECT-e Platform

The e-Vitara is built on Suzuki’s all-new HEARTECT-e platform, which has been exclusively designed for electric vehicles. This architecture provides exceptional strength and structural rigidity, utilizing more than 60% ultra-high tensile and high-tensile strength steel in its body structure.

Crucially, the platform incorporates an advanced battery protection system with an energy-absorbing mounting structure to ensure high voltage protection during impacts.
