Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported total sales of 180,077 units in May 2025, marking a 3.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase from 174,551 units in May 2024. While domestic sales declined, a remarkable 80% surge in exports helped offset the dip.

Key Sales Highlights

1. Domestic Market Performance (-5.4% YoY)

  • Passenger Vehicles: 135,962 units (vs 144,002 in May 2024)
    • Mini/Compact Segment (Alto, Swift, Baleno): 68,278 units (-12.6% YoY)
    • Utility Vehicles (Brezza, Grand Vitara): 54,899 units (+1.3% YoY)
    • Vans (Eeco): 12,327 units (+12.5% YoY)
  • Light Commercial Vehicles: 2,728 units (+31% YoY)

2. Export Boom (+80% YoY)

  • 31,219 units exported vs 17,367 in May 2024
  • Growing demand in Latin America, Africa, and Middle East markets

3. OEM Sales

  • 10,168 units supplied to other manufacturers (Toyota, Nissan)
