This represents a massive leap from the 142,053 domestic units sold in the same month of the previous year, highlighting the brand’s strengthening foothold in the country.

Passenger Vehicle Segment Breakdown

The core strength of Maruti Suzuki remains deeply rooted in its extensive passenger vehicle lineup, which saw growth across the board.

  • Mini and Compact Cars: The entry-level and compact segments continue to draw large volumes. The Mini segment, which comprises the Alto and S-Presso models, witnessed sales of 16,066 units in April 2026. This is a massive increase from the 6,332 units recorded in April 2025.
  • Compact and Mid-Size: The Compact and Mid-Size category includes popular, high-volume models like the Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR. • Overall Domestic PV: When factoring in cars, utility vehicles, and vans, the total domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales reached a formidable 187,704 units for April 2026, compared to 138,704 units in April 2025.

Commercial Vehicles and Other OEM Sales

Beyond personal transportation, Maruti Suzuki also sustains a presence in the commercial sector and strategic business-to-business partnerships.

  • Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV): The commercial sector contributed positively to the overall monthly volume. Sales of the Super Carry Light Commercial Vehicle were recorded at 3,418 units in April 2026. This is slightly up from the 3,349 units sold in April 2025.
  • Sales to Other OEMs: Through its corporate partnership arrangements, Maruti Suzuki reported sales of 8,470 units to other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in April 2026. This figure saw a slight dip from the 9,827 units supplied to other OEMs in the same month last year.
