Ola Electric Commences Test Rides for 4680 Bharat Cell-Powered S1 Pro+
Ola Electric announced on November 16, 2025, that it has officially commenced test rides for its new vehicles powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell. Customers can now experience this new technology at the company’s flagship stores across India.
This milestone marks a significant step in making Ola’s indigenous battery technology available for customers to experience firsthand. The company stated that this achievement underscores its commitment to “driving technological self-reliance and accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility”.

The 4680 Bharat Cell: Indigenous and Certified
The 4680 Bharat Cell represents a “major leap in India’s EV journey”. It is an indigenously manufactured battery pack designed to deliver more range, better performance, and enhanced safety.
Ola Electric recently secured ARAI certification for this new battery pack under the latest AIS-156 Amendment 4 standards. This certification, issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, applies to the 5.2 kWh configuration of the 4680 Bharat Cell battery.

First Look: The S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh)
The first product to feature the new battery is the S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh). This scooter is engineered to showcase the performance and range benefits of the new cell technology.

The new S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) joins Ola Electric’s expansive portfolio of S1 scooters and Roadster X motorcycles. Ola, India’s leading EV manufacturer, is vertically integrated, producing its own EVs and components, including battery cells. This production occurs at the Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, supported by the Battery Innovation Centre (BIC) in Bengaluru.
