10 Facts about Renault Kwid 1.0 Litre SCe and Easy-R AMT
Renault Kwid is phenomenal success in India, the hatchback broke several records to join the list of best-selling hatchbacks in India. Exactly after an year, the French automaker is set to launch more powerful Kwid which will be powered by 1000cc engine. Just not the introduction of 1.0 SCe variant, the car will be also getting Easy-R AMT. Having automatic gearbox is now a new trend in India and the adoption rate of AMT in cars is set to increase to 15% by 2020.
Here are 10 facts about Renault Kwid 1.0 Sce and Easy-R AMT.
Fact 1:
Renault Kwid is an entry level, budget hatchback which was launched in India in the month of September 2015.
Fact 2:
Kwid inherits the SUVish design from Duster. Until now, Renault Kwid was only available in 800cc, 53 bhp engine with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. Renault will be adding more variants to meet the demands of its current day customers who crave for more power and modern technology.
Fact 3:
The upcoming 1.0 Renault Kwid will be powered by 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which churns out a maximum power of 67 bhp. The 1.0 litre Kwid was first showcased at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in the month of February.

1.0 litre version of Renault Kwid would be named as Kwid 1.0 SCe and in addition to 5 speed manual transmission gearbox, Renault will be also adding AMT automatic gearbox option as well.

The Delhi Auto Expo 2016 Motorshow showcased two other vehicles from the French automaker – Renault Kwid Climber and Renault Kwid Racer.

The automated manual transmission (AMT) which will be present in new Renault Kwid 1.0 SCe is going to be 5 speed, Easy-R unit. A similar Easy-R transmission unit is used in existing Renault Duster AMT.

The 1.0 litre variant will be getting 4 valves per cylinder of the Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) layout. This particular engine architecture ensures low pressure drop and an efficient valve lift for a higher air filling which results in increasing performance.

Along with the existing Reverse, Neutral and Drive modes found in any AMT unit, the transmission system in the new Kwid Easy-R AMT would be also equipped with crawl function that helps the car to move forward or backward slowly without any throttle input.

The new Renault Kwid will be featuring a 7 inch touchscreen MediaNav system, a navigation module, audio system with bluetooth connectivity, aux-in and support got USB, digital instrument cluster, air-conditioning, power windows in the front, a 12V outlet etc.

The expected fuel efficiency of Renault Kwid 1.0 litre is 20Kmpl. The Kwid 1.0 SCe would take on potential long-time competitors like Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.
