Royal Enfield has been a pioneer of powerful four stroke technology in India since 1995. It is one of oldest motorcycles manufacturer from India and has been partnered with Eicher Motors Limited. Royal Enfield is the first auto company to enter Chennai in 1955. And now with a presence of two plants in Chennai, one in Thiruvottiyur and the other in Oragadam.
Royal Enfield wide fleet of models satisfy the needs of the leisure biker, motor enthusiasts and the urban youth who needs combined look of traditional flavour. Royal Enfield’s line-up includes the Bullet 350, Bullet Electra, Classic 350 ,Classic 500 and the Thunderbird Twin spark.
The sales of Royal Enfield boomed to 26,039 units in October against 17,659 units of previous year. It’s a 47.5 rise in the sales. At present there are two plants in Chennai which manufactures and assembles around 4 lakh unit per annum.
In order to keep up the increasing demand in the domestic market, Royal Enfield have acquired a 50 acre plot at Vallam Vadal near Chennai (10 Kms from the older plant) with an investment of around 57 crores. With this third unit the capacity will increase from 4 lakhs to 6 lakhs per annum. Royal Enfield is eyeing to increase the number outlets to 500 by the end of 2015.
