Tata Motors is working on Sporty Performance Hatchback
Tata Motors has partnered with Jayem Automotives for developing performance & special vehicles. The
first product which is a result of this partnership is a sporty hatchback that has been displayed at the Auto
Expo 2016. The car carries an attitude that is embedded in its aspects of design and driving dynamics,
and will deliver the next level of personalization with performance to its customers.
The well sculpted body of this hatchback conveys a sense of power and agility. It comes with a sporty new front grille with air dam, new performance oriented front and rear bumper with air vents on fender, high-flow exhaust system and an aerodynamic body kit with accessorized 17 inch alloy wheels which not only aid performance but add to the sporty look. The interior of this performance oriented car takes the sporty theme a notch higher. It comes adorned with sporty pedal inserts with body coloured embellishments, sporty black leather seats with red detail and contrast` stitching along with leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob with stitch details, giving it a racy appeal.
Powered by the modified Revotron 1.2T turbocharged petrol engine with a remapped ECU for higher power and torque, the car is fitted with a high-flow exhaust system for a more exciting driving experience. It provides an enhanced power of 110 PS @ 5300 – 5500 RPM with maximum torque of 170 Nm @ 3000 – 3800 RPM, delivering 0 to 100 km/h within 12 seconds. The 5-speed manual transmission gearbox and the performance calibrated electric power assisted steering with brushless motor combine for a precise drive.
With a wheelbase of 2470 mm, the car is equipped with performance suspension using retuned springs and dampers for a lower ride and planted handling. It has a fuel tank capacity of 44 litres for those stressfree long drives.
