Team Yokohama finishes first at FMSCI Indian Rally championship
Japanese Tyre company – Yokohama has started the year 2015 with a winning note. Newly formed Team Yokohama has started its campaign for the Calendar Year 2015 for the FMSCI Indian Rally championship with a winning note.
Mr Rahul Kanthraj and his co-driver Vivek Bhatt of Team Yokohama driving a Mitsubishi Cedia has grabbed the IRC 2000cc category (01:38:06) at the Mahindra Adventure Rally of Maharashtra.
Mr. Sanjay Chatterjee who is the General Manager of Sales & Marketing division of Yokohama India said,
We recently announced TEAM YOKOHAMA for the year 2015. A win at this early a stage is very encouraging for us. Last year we had a podium finish in almost all the races and this year too, the start has been on a winning note
During the event Team Yokohama’s lead driver Rahul Kanthraj, said
We have started the Year with a Win and that too with a lead of 3 minutes 46 seconds. We hope to continue in this form for the entire season in similar fashion
Participating in the 2000 CC Category, the duo of Rahul Kanthraj & Vivek Bhatt started rallying in the year 2000 and has participated in over 75 rallies. Together they have won 4 Group and National championships and finished runners up on 4 other occasions.
Team Yokohama also consists of Driver Karna Kadur and Co-Driver M Chandrashekar competing in 1600 CC on a Volkswagen Polo. Yokohma also supports Mr Prithvi Domnic and Co-Driver Pruthvi Ithal in 2000 CC Mr. Domnic is a Yokohama YCN dealer in Bangalore as well as a Motorsports enthusiast.
Yokohama has been a part of Motorsports events across the world and has completed 10 years as a sole Tyre supplier to WTCC, an FIA World Championship.
Between the year 2008 to 2010, Yokohama has been the official partner for Red Rooster racing for all INRC events. Yokohama’s partnership with Red Rooster has brought positive results to the company. Since 2008, cars equipped with Yokohama tyres have always found place on the Podium at Raid De Himalaya which is one of the toughest Rallies.
