TVS Motor Company, 2nd largest Indian 2 wheeler manufacturer has announced that it is in the process of developing electric scooters and motorcycles. The two wheeler manufacturer has plans to push these electric 2 wheelers to Indian market soon said a senior executive from TVS Motor Company.
The Hosur based TVS Motor Company which claims to have a prior experience in electric mobility space will be developing electric models that meets the modern customer demand.

Mr Aniruddha Haldar, Vice President, Marketing, TVS Motor Company Commuter Motorcycles, Scooters and Corporate Brand said to the media,
We are very keen on that (electric) space and as a major OEM in the two-wheeler space we believe that we will have a strong presence in electric segment as well
Talking about the advent of electric mobility in India, Mr Haldar said that the electric segment is going to be significant in future.
We have been working on it for quite some time. In the past we had products (electric…) too. We continue to work on that and as technology has grown so has our capability
Haldar said.

When questioned about the time frame of electric bikes roll-out in India, Mr Halder said:
The electric 2-wheelers by TVS Motor Company will be hitting the market soon.
Talking about the the Indian electric two-wheeler market, India already has brands like Hero Electric and Lohia that is aggressively pushing to sell battery powered scooters.
Very recently TVS Motor company launched the Premium edition of TVS Victor motorcycle at INR 55,065
TVS Motor Company is performing well in the scooter segment only next behind the Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India (HMSI) and has grabbed the 2nd spot in scooter segment in India.
