Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda not to participate in Auto Expo 2018
Get prepared to witness Auto Expo 2018 without major auto manufacturers like Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda. Scheduled to be held at Greater Noida of Delhi, the popular auto expo show will miss cars from the German Volkswagen Group ( that owns Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda).
In addition to this, General Motors which recently announced their domestic sales business shut down in India will also not participate in the Auto Expo 2018. The big brands like VW are concerned about return on investments. There are also reports that Nissan, Royal Enfield, Bajaj and Ford are still evaluating their decision to participate in the car show.
The 2016 Auto Expo didn’t see participation from major two wheeler brands like Bajaj and Royal Enfield. Just like 2016 Auto Expo, even the 2018 edition of Indian Auto Expo will host the show at Greater Noida in the month of February. The 2018 Auto Expo will be organised by industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and business chamber CII.
The organisers are expecting the participation from new players like Korea based Kia motors, China’s SAIC and France’s Peugeot.
Mr Thierry Lespiaucq who is the MD of Volkswagen Group sales India said to media,
We have enjoyed participating at the expo in the past and hope to be back in 2020 (on the) basis of our brand promotion strategy.
What’s your opinion on some brands not participating in Auto Expo 2018?
