It is just not about Kwid, this TV commercial also promotes Renault Duster, Lodgy, Fluence and also teases the next Renault Kwid micro crossover with a badge ‘coming soon’. Kwid from the Renault is the most affordable Renault model yet in the world and was previewed in India in early 2015, the car is set to make its debut this festival season. Just yesterday, we reported that the Kwid was found testing on Indian roads.
The arrival of Hyundai Creta and Maruti S-Cross has done some significant damage to sales of Renault Duster, which was otherwise a very potential option for SUV buyers in India. So there exists a pressure within the company to make Kwid a grand success. It is very tempting for a car buyer, as Kwid is very affordable with a price tag of 3 to 4 lakhs and amounts to 98% localisation. Renault Kwid could give a neck and neck competition to India’s best selling Maruti Alto, and Hyundai Eon.
Already the base and top-end variants of Kwid have been seen on Indian roads, hinting us on what features to expect. Renault Kwid’s base model features black bumpers, black grille plus steel wheels on the exteriors whereas the top-end Kwid model was seen embellished with chrome accents across the car.
The details on Renault Kwid’s power and torque output has not been revealed yet. The car is powered by three-cylinder 800 cc petrol engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox.
In the past, actor Ranbir Kapoor was featured in various Nissan TV commercials including Nissan Micra.
