Introduction

We are back with reviewing Hero bikes once again, this time Hero MotoCorp has offered their new 110cc scooter called the XOOM 110. We got the top trim combat edition of XOOM scooter for testing for a good 7 days. The XOOM 110 scooter will stand against other scooters in the market like the new Jupiter 110 and Honda Activa 6G / Dio. What follows below is our experience spending the time with the scooter:

Design and Looks

At the outset, the Hero XOOM 110 scooter looks sharp and sporty. In normal XOOM scooter is available in 4 colors, the one which we are reviewing here is Combat Edition of XOOM scooter which looks pretty impressive and has got good road presence and styling elements. Hero claims XOOM 110 Combat edition’s design is inspired by Fighter Jet and has added Fighter wing inspired stripes. The body color which is Matte Shadow Grey brings in the elements of a fighter plane. Back to reality, this scooter features advanced projector LED headlamps and gets the industry first corner bending lights on a scooter. All these are LED setup.

Other design highlights of Hero XOOM 110 Scooter are aerodynamic design, sporty muffler, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. You get a H shaped LED tail lamps. The XOOM 110 also gets a USB port in the front to charge your phone, your USB device can be easily put inside the front pockets. It is quite a practical scooter.

Speedometer

The combat edition XOOM 110’s speedometer features a blue backlight making it more readable during any conditions. it is a fully digital console carrying rider friendly information like Speed, Fuel indicator, time, Average fuel economy, Odometer and tripmeter values. There is also dedicated M and S button at the bottom of the Digital display to adjust or set trip meter etc. the combat edition additionally brings in the bluetooth connectivity feature which can be connected to your phone to get alerts for phone calls, sms and other notifications. There is also i3s indicator integrated to digital console, more on that in the ride and handling section. Overall XOOM 110’s speedometer is neat and looks advanced.

Dimensions

The all new Hero XOOM 110 scooter weighs about 109 kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 5.2 litres. The seat height of XOOM is 770mm making it easy for the short riders to hop on. The ground clearance of the scooter is 155mm, that is quite good. Talking about the dimensions, the scooter measures 1881mm in length, 731mm in width, 1118mm in height, The wheelbase measures 1300mm.

Engine and Performance

The all new Hero XOOM 110 scooter is powered by a 110.9cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, SI engine. The XOOM 110’s engine produces a peak power of 8.05 bhp at 7,250 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 8.70 Nm at 5750 rpm.

Ride and Handling

We tested the all new Hero XOOM 110 scooter mostly on urban roads and highways. The scooter was quick, agile and quite nice to ride. The rider can comfortably sit and keep riding. Since it is an automatic scooter, the riding job is easy- accelerate and brake. Initially, we felt the throttle input is quite hard and then got used to it. The scooter felt nice while riding on small streets and within the traffic, the weight is less, so it is quick and sporty.

We got a mileage around 40 kmpl. It could have been better – the mileage depends on your riding style. The pillion comfort at the back was comfortable as well, Talking about the practicality, the storage spaces (pockets) in the front can be used to store your shopping items like milk packets etc, The under seat storage was small but good enough to hold a full-faced helmet. Overall, the ride quality offered by Hero XOOM 110 was quite satisfying. The XOOM combat edition offered a feature called cornering lights, however we could not understand its impact on our ride. The cornering lights is supposed to light up when the scooter is bending through corners, we did not notice any significant functional use from that feature.

The i3S feature is available in Hero XOOM 110 scooter, it is an amazing feature that works flawlessly and brings the scooter’s engine to halt whenever your scooter is idling at conditions like traffic signal. You can again bring the engine to life by holding and releasing the brake gently. It is quite a useful feature to save fuel, extremely nice to have feature especially for those who live in city. There is a dedicated i3S feature on the right side of the handlebar, you can turn it on or off, depending on your requirement.

Braking and Suspension

The combat edition of Hero XOOM 110 features 190mm disc brake in the front and 130mm drum brake at the rear. The disc brake in the front gives more confidence for the rider to take on scooter under rainy conditions. The stopping distance is quite good, the brakes are responsive and has a good bite. The scooter features a telescopic suspension in the front and a single spring loaded shock absorber at the rear offering a good comfort for both the rider and the pillion.

Colors

Primarily, the all new 2025 Hero XOOM 110 scooter is available in 4 colors namely:

  • Polestar Blue
  • Black
  • Matt Abrax Orange
  • Pearl Silver White

There is also Hero XOOM 110 available in Grey color with fighter jet styling which is nothing but the Combat edition, the one reviewed here.

Price and Variants

There are multiple variants of Hero XOOM 110 – ZX, VX and LX.. The ZX variant of Hero XOOM 110 is the top trim with bluetooth connectivity, diamond cut alloy wheels, i3S technology, front disc brake, corner bending lights and fully digital speedometer offering all 5 color options. Where as VX variant is offered in 3 color options missing out on many features. The base variant LX gets normal wheels with digi-analogue type of speedometer offering only 2 color options. Verdict

Hero has done a good job in bringing a fresh and nice looking scooter targeting the youth. You can buy the Hero XOOM 110 scooter for its design and. how it looks, practicality aspects like extra storage space in front, for the quick and nice performance of the bike and also the i3s tech is quite cool and helpful to bring down your fuel cost.
