Maruti Ignis Features, Variants revealed ahead of its official launch
Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading automobile manufacturer will be officially launching Ignis on 13th January 2017. Even before its official launch, details like features and variants of Maruti Ignis are out. Ignis comes under company’s “Nexa Experience” portfolio, which is specifically targeted for premium customers. The upcoming “Ignis” will be placed below Baleno and S-Cross. Maruti Suzuki has already opened online bookings for Ignis. The much awaited Maruti Ignis was first officially revealed in last year’s Delhi Auto Expo 2016.
Ignis will be sold only through Nexa dealerships and some of the vital details about the car is reportedly out. Maruti Ignis will be offered in 2 different engine options – 1.2 litre K-Series petrol and 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engine. The car comes in both Manual as well as CVT automatic transmission options.
Maruti Ignis Variants
Maruti Ignis is expected to come in 3 different variants: Alpha, Delta and Zeta. The top two trims will have an option for automatic transmission. The taxi version of Ignis will also be launched and is going to be offered in both petrol as well as diesel engine options.
Maruti Ignis Features and Equipments
The all new Maruti Ignis will be getting following equipments and features:
- Projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights (Alpha trim)
- 15-inch alloy wheels (Alpha and Zeta trim)
- Smartplay touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay (Alpha trim)
- Keyless go with push button start (Alpha and Zeta trim)
- 2 DIN audio system (Zeta and Delta trim)
- 15-inch steel wheels (Delta trim)
The Ignis is expected to have interiors in dual colour, with black on the top half and white creme at the bottom. It is likely to have faux carbon-fibre panels.
Dual front airbags, ABS and EBD may be offered standard in all variants. The Ignis could also get the ISOFIX child-seat restraint system, recently added to Ciaz as well.
Maruti Ignis Price
The price of Maruti Ignis has not been officially revealed yet. Ignis price is expected to be around INR 5.5 lakhs ( Ex-showroom Delhi). If priced accordingly, Ignis is going to be more affordable in the entire NEXA line-up.
Maruti Ignis Rivals
Maruti Suzuki will be launching this car to take on specific cars that are dominated in Indian market. Some of the prime rivals for Maruti Ignis would be Mahindra KUV100,Ford EcoSport, Hyundai i20 Activ, Mahindra TUV300, Fiat Avventura etc…
