How to identify which side of the car has the Fuel Filler Cap?

This seems to happen to many people when they are driving their friend’s car or a rental car and drive into the fuel station without knowing which side the fuel filler cap is on. You may be in a hurry to make your meeting on time or catch that important flight, you wouldn’t want to waste precious seconds getting off the car to check which side the tank cap is on (or too lazy to do it while not in hurry).

Of course you should have had to check it before borrowing the car or renting one but the joy of getting it wants you to race away. Its okay, its natural. Do not worry we have a solution for you to learn which side of the car the fuel filler cap is on (And you will be able to identify it just by sitting inside the car). Here’s how you can do it…

Identify the fuel gauge or the fuel level indicator on the instrument cluster of your car. You may now find the fuel pump logo on it and there will be a tiny arrow mark pointing in the direction of which side the fuel filler cap is on.

If its on the right, the arrow will point in the right direction and if its on the left, it will point in the left direction. Easy, isn’t it? Most of you would already know about this small hack but in case you didn’t, you know now. It a simple piece of information which will prove very useful at times.
