India EV Sales Report November 2025: Mixed Trends with Strong YoY Growth in Passenger and Commercial Sectors

The Indian electric vehicle (EV) market witnessed a dynamic month in November 2025. According to the latest retail data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), the industry experienced divergent trends across different segments. While the high-volume two-wheeler segment saw a dip, the passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle sectors recorded impressive year-on-year (YoY) growth, signaling a maturing market moving beyond just entry-level adoption.

Here is a comprehensive breakdown of EV sales in India for November 2025 across Two-Wheelers (2W), Three-Wheelers (3W), Passenger Vehicles (PV), and Commercial Vehicles (CV).

Electric Two-Wheelers (2W): A Challenging Month

The electric two-wheeler segment, typically the volume driver for the industry, faced headwinds in November 2025. Total retail sales stood at 1,16,982 units, marking a decline of 18.70% compared to the previous month (October 2025) and a slight dip of 2.51% year-on-year.

Despite the volume drop, the segment maintained a steady market share of 4.6%, identical to the figures from October 2025 and November 2024.

Key Highlights:

  • TVS Motor Company led the pack with 30,347 units, achieving an 11.02% YoY growth.
  • Bajaj Auto secured the second spot with 25,565 units, though it saw a minor YoY decline of 3.23%.
  • Ola Electric continued to see a significant correction, with sales dropping to 8,402 units, a steep 71.35% YoY decline compared to November 2024.
  • River Mobility emerged as a notable gainer with a massive 650% YoY growth, retailing 1,800 units.

Electric Three-Wheelers (3W): Dominating Market Penetration

The electric three-wheeler segment remains the most electrified sector in the Indian auto industry. In November 2025, the segment achieved a remarkable market share of 62.5%, up from 54.5% in October.

Total sales for the month reached 83,683 units, registering a healthy 18.52% Month-on-Month (MoM) growth and a 31.99% YoY increase.

Key Highlights:

  • Mahindra Group retained its leadership with 10,779 units, growing 51.16% YoY.
  • Bajaj Auto followed closely with 8,765 units, marking a 43.01% YoY growth.
  • TVS Motor Company showed explosive growth in this segment, with sales jumping 2771% YoY to reach 2,871 units.

Electric Passenger Vehicles (PV): Strong Year-on-Year Surge

The electric passenger vehicle segment demonstrated robust long-term growth. While sales dipped by 17.75% compared to the festive highs of October, the YoY growth stood at an impressive 61.87%.

Total EV car sales for November 2025 were 14,850 units, with EV market share climbing to 3.8%, up from 2.8% in November 2024.

Key Highlights:

  • Tata Motors continues to dominate the market with 6,153 units, holding a significant lead despite a 15% MoM dip.
  • JSW MG Motor India held the second position with 3,693 units.
  • Mahindra & Mahindra recorded a massive 408.75% YoY growth, selling 2,966 units.
  • New Entrants: VinFast Auto India sold 291 units (up 122.14% MoM), and Tesla India Motors recorded 48 sales.

Electric Commercial Vehicles (CV): Explosive Growth

The commercial vehicle segment is witnessing a rapid shift toward electrification. The segment recorded the highest growth rate among all categories, with sales surging 202.7% YoY.

Total retail sales stood at 1,698 units in November 2025. The market penetration for electric CVs rose to 1.79%, up from 0.71% in November 2024.

  • Tata Motors led the segment with 491 units, growing 47.9% YoY.
  • Euler Motors showed exceptional performance with 253 units, registering an 8333.3% YoY growth.
  • Pinnacle Mobility also saw a surge, selling 128 units with a 1063.6% YoY increase.
