Maruti Suzuki has officially revealed crucial details about its first-ever electric SUV, the e-Vitara, ahead of its price announcement. The electric SUV will be available in three broad variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, catering to different budget and performance needs.

Production is already underway at the Gujarat plant, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2026. Here is a detailed breakdown of the variants, battery packs, and features.

The e-Vitara offers two battery pack options, both paired with a front-axle mounted electric motor.

  • Power: The electric motor delivers 144 PS with the 49 kWh battery and 174 PS with the 61 kWh battery.

  • Drivetrain: The India-spec model will be available only with a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) setup, unlike the international version which also gets an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option.

The e-Vitara boasts a premium interior with a dual-tone black and tan theme and semi-leatherette upholstery.

  • Dual-Display Setup: A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
  • Comfort: Ventilated front seats, a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and a panoramic fixed glass roof.
  • Tech: Wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, and a PM2.5 cabin air filter.

Maruti has equipped the e-Vitara with a robust safety package, including:

  • 360-Degree Camera
  • Level-2 ADAS: Features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
  • 5-Star BNCAP Rating: The SUV has secured a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests.

Charging and Aftersales

To ease range anxiety, Maruti Suzuki has set up over 2,000 exclusive charging stations across 1,100 cities. Additionally, the ‘e for me’ app will provide access to 70% of fast chargers nationwide.

For maintenance, over 1,500 workshops have been upgraded to be EV-ready.

Customers can purchase the e-Vitara through three models:

  1. Direct Purchase: Buying the vehicle outright.
  2. Subscription: Paying a monthly fee for usage.
  3. Battery as a Service (BaaS): Paying for the vehicle upfront and a separate rental fee for the battery usage, similar to models like the MG Windsor EV.
