Mercedes-AMG is extending its sports car portfolio with the new AMG GT S Roadster as an attractive open-air model. The new Roadster is powered by a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 that douses out 522hp and 670Nm of torque. This beast has a 0-100kph sprint time of 3.8sec and a top speed of 307kph. AMG’s GT model range now includes 12 models, including 3 versions of the new GT 4-Door Coupé (which is actually more technically related to the E-class) and two customer racing models. The range will culminate with a GT Black Series, due in year 2020 with an expected power figure of 637PS.
Currently in India, Mercedes-AMG sells the GT Roadster, GT S and GT R coupes at Rs 2.19 crore, Rs 2.09 crore and Rs 2.23 crore, respectively (prices ex-showroom, India). The brand has not revealed any details about the new GT S Roadster coming to India.
