The Japanese 2 Wheeler maker, Suzuki first revealed their new Access 125 scooter during Delhi Auto Expo 2016 which commenced during the month of February in India. The all new Suzuki Access 125 is now officially available for sale. After a long wait, Suzuki offered us (GaadiKey) to test ride this brand new scooter. The new Access 125 is offered in 5 different colors and we got the “Candy Sonoma Red” for testing.
Following is the review of new Access 125:
New Suzuki Access 125 – Initial Impressions
There is a significant difference when you compare the old Suzuki Access with the new version of Access 125. The first thing which anyone could notice is the headlamp design which tries to barrow some aspects from the design of Vespa 150SXL’s headlamps. You can check out our earlier review on Vespa 150SXL to check out the similarity between the two. The scooter looks more premiere with the changes. Even at the rear, the scooter gets shiny glassy lamps with a unique design.
New Suzuki Access 125 – Design and Looks
As noted in our first impressions, the design of new Access 125 is something which could woo its potential customers. The dashboard of the new Suzuki Access 125 is simple and minimal with all the relevant details in place. The flattened foot rest area for the rider can accommodate shopping bag or any decent sized luggage bag.
The seats of the scooter are quite spacious for a pillion rider. The well structured grab rails and foot pegs provides the rider an additional comfort and stability while riding.
New Suzuki Access 125 – Engine and Performance
New Access 125’s engine is powered by 2 Valve, 1-Cylinder, Air cooled 124 cc engine which is mated to an automatic CVT Gearbox. The scooter churns out a maximum power of 8.7bhp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.2 Nm at 5000 rpm. Both self-start and kick-start is offered.
New Suzuki Access 125 – Braking, Suspension and Handling
The Access 125’s brakes are quite responsive and effective which is of course a strict requirement for any automatic scooter. At the rear, the drum brakes are present.
The suspension system offered by new Access 125 is good – the telescopic suspension in the front and the swing-arm suspension in the rear helps the scooter to pass through uneven surfaces without any hassle.
Maneuvering the new Access 125cc at both high and low speeds was a breeze, even when the pillion rider is accompanied.
New Suzuki Access 125 Mileage
We were not very impressed with the mileage offered by new Suzuki Access 125. We drove up to a distance of 200 Kms with fully filled fuel tank whose capacity is 5.6 litres. The mileage offered by the new Access 125 is quite decent if not extra-ordinary.
New Suzuki Acccess 125 – Weight and Dimensions
The fuel tank capacity of new Suzuki Access 125 is 5.6 litres – which is good enough for a scooter that is mostly used for short distance travel. The bike weighs 112 Kgs and the wheels are made of Steel/Alloy.
Talking about the dimensions, the scooter measures 1870 mm in length, 655mm in width, 1160 mm in height and its Wheelbase measures 1265mm. The larger ground clearance of 160mm can rescue the scooter from crashing into speed breakers. New Suzuki Access’s seat height of 780mm is ideal even for the rider who is short.
New Suzuki Access 125 – Extra Goodies
New Access 125 comes with the charging point in the front which is also equipped with the pocket-sized compartment in the front where you can easily hang in your mobile phones or store documents/small-sized objects.
In addition to this, you can store lot of things under the seat. The storage area under the seat is quite spacious and fits in an helmet very easily.
Price
The new Access 125’s ex-showroom Bangalore price is Rs 55,055. The on-road price of new Access 125 in Bangalore is Rs 64,708.
Verdict
The all new Access 125 is a good looking scooter which looks pretty elegant on road. If you are planning for a stylish modern scooter for your daily urban commute – the new Access 125 can be a great and ELEGANT choice!
