Tata Hexa Pickup Truck Concept in Making
Tata Motors is back with a bang with some of the promising passenger car models like Hexa, Tigor and Tiago. While Tiago and TIGOR belong to hatchback and compact sedan segment, Hexa is a Sports Utlilty Vehicle (SUV). Hexa has gained pretty positive response in India – Thanks to its powerful engine, muscular design and premium features and comfort offered.
Hexa is also clocking decent number of monthly bookings in India. Tata Motors is reportedly working on pickup truck which is based on Tata Hexa. The Hexa pickup when launched shall take on other popular pickups in the country like Isuzu D-Max V-Cross adventure pickup etc. As of now Hexa pickup is the concept phase and will be displayed at 2018 Auto Expo that happens in Delhi.
Currently the automaker has already showcased another pickup truck model – Xenon – which is not as feature rich as D-Max V-Cross. The upcoming Hexa pickup is aimed to directly compete against Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
Pricing wise, the upcoming Tata Hexa pickup will be costlier than that of Xenon and at the same time it offers additional features like touchscreen infotainment system etc. The Hexa pickup also boasts of a very muscular as well as strong road presence when compared to Xenon pickup. Hexa drives power from 2.2-litre Varicor 400 diesel engine with Super Drive modes churning out 154 bhp of peak power @ 4000 rpm and 400 Nm of peak torque @ 1700 rpm.
Transmission options of Tata Hexa include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Hexa is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations.
