Tata Kite 5 will be launched this festive season
Tata Kite 5 compact sedan will be launched during festive season this year. Kite 5 sedan is ready to get into production as Tata Motors has finished testing the car. Sources from MotorOctane has revealed that the compact sedan would be launched during the festive season.
We are not sure if the car gets the same name as Kite 5 or it might take one of the names that are being internally discussed – Canvas, Dribble or Ingrid. The all new Tata Kite 5 compact sedan will be entirely based on Tiago platform and will be launched in the month of October of 2016.
Tata Kite 5 was first displayed at the Auto Expo 2016.
Tata Kite 5 Design
The Tata Kite 5 gets same fascia as that of recently launched Tiago hatchback. The Kite 5 sedan gets a black honeycomb mesh grille along with sharp headlamp design. The headlamps of Kite are double barrelled and gets a smoked effect.
The side indicator of Kite 5 sedan is housed at the bottom of the headlamp. The 15-inch tyres of Kite 5 fills up the wheel well and this makes the Kite 5 look pretty impressive. The large window area of the car indicates that the interior cabin is spacious.
The sloping roof makes the Kite 5 look stylish and it make it look the most stunning in the compact sedan in terms of design. The tail lamps contribute to the glam factor. The Kite 5 looks a lot more handsome than any of the other compact sedans. There is a chrome strip that runs across. The rear bumper has a black portion also. There is a well integrated spoiler and this also has a brake light in it.
Tata Kite 5 Interiors
Talking about the interiors, Tata Kite 5 will be getting similar interiors as that of Tata Tiago. Kite 5 interiors is all black, where as the Tiago would be getting black and beige. Tata Kite 5 gets the same signature 3 spoke steering wheel with controls for music as well as voice command. The compact sedan also gets a new instrument cluster with driver information system in place.
The infotainment system displays some of the key indicators like average speed, distance to empty, fuel efficiency and instant fuel efficiency. Tata Motors’ Kite 5 would be getting an integrated music system on the top-of-the-line variant. The top trim of Kite 5 sedan would be getting an Harman music system with bluetooth connectivity, USB and even aux. It plays music through 8 speakers.
Tata Kite 5 Engine
Kite 5 sedan from Tata Motors is going to be offered with 1.05-litre diesel engine that produces 70bhp of power. It is nothing but a Revotorq engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. There will be also petrol engine whose capacity is 1.2-litre and comes with 3-cylinders. The engine is going to produce 84bhp of power and 114Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine of Tata Kite 5 too will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox.
Both petrol and diesel engines of Tata Kite 5 shall be getting multiple driving modes like Eco mode and City mode. Eco mode enhances the engine set-up for better mileage, where as the City mode would be providing the best possible performance. The AMT version of Tata Kite 5 Sedan will also be made available in the near future.
Tata Kite 5 Price (Expected)
The expected price of all new Tata Kite 5 will be around INR 4.5 lakhs to INR 7 lakhs (on-road). Tata Kite 5 could be priced very competitively, less than the the compact Sedan Zest and the Bolt hatchback.
