Speculated reports from auto magazines like AutoCarIndia suggests that the price of new Tata Kite hatchback will be Rs 3.6 lakhs. In the other news, Tata Motors has already teased its new hatchback Kite in 2 occasions – one, in the TV commercial featuring Football ace Messi, and the other in one of the sketches released by the company. The global unveil of Kite is scheduled to happen on December 3rd.

Soon after the launch of Tata Kite hatchback, the car maker is expected to would be launch its compact sedan version as well. The Tata Kite series cars shares the platform and few components from the popular Tata Indica car. New Tata ‘Kite 4’ (hatchback) and the Tata ‘Kite 5’ (compact sedan) shall be powered by new petrol and diesel motors.

The petrol engine used in Tata Kite is an all-new naturally-aspirated 1.2 litre 3-cylinder engine that is developed in-house. The engine of Kite hatchback comes with advanced technologies like noise reducing and other lower maintenance technologies like the roller finger followers as well as the hydraulic lash adjusters. The engine of the car is expected to produce a maximum power of 84 bhp and with a peak torque of 108 Nm. The engine of the car could be probably branded as the 2nd product in the Revotron series.

Tata Kite petrol and diesel variants

The all new Kite twin would be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel engine, both featuring three cylinders.

Kite diesel version is expected to be powered by the 1.05-litre 3-cylinder engine that was first premiered through Tata Manza Hybrid Concept at the Delhi Auto Expo which was held in 2012. It is a 3-cylinder interpretation of the 4-cylinder 1,405 cc diesel engine. The car features a very stiffer engine block, counterbalancing shafts as well as friction reducing measures. The power and torque figures of the car is expected to be around 67 bhp and 137 Nm, with a mileage offering of 25 kms per litre.
