Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Q3 FY26 Sales Report: Record-Breaking Growth and Strategic Milestones

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. has announced its sales results for the third quarter of the 2026 fiscal year (Q3 FY26), marking a period of significant growth and record-breaking achievements. The company reported total domestic and international sales of 171,013 units, representing a 22.3% increase compared to the 139,829 units sold during the same period in the previous fiscal year (Q3 FY25).

ICE and EV Performance Breakup

The company’s “multi-powertrain strategy” has been a central driver of this success, catering to diverse consumer preferences across Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) segments.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Growth

The adoption of electric vehicles saw a substantial acceleration in Q3 FY26. Total EV sales (including domestic and international business) reached 24,103 units, a 49.5% year-on-year growth from 16,119 units in Q3 FY25. This growth is attributed to:

  • Enhanced vehicle capabilities and longer range.
  • The introduction of a lifetime battery warranty.
  • Achieving price parity with ICE counterparts.

Several key models continues to lead Tata Motors’ market presence:

  • Nexon: Remained a flagship performer, leading as India’s top-selling car/SUV in October and November. It is on track to maintain leadership for the entire Q3 FY26 with approximately 64,000 units sold.
  • Harrier and Safari: These flagship SUVs reached a major milestone in Q3 FY26 with the unveiling of their petrol variants, expanding their market appeal beyond diesel.
  • Punch and Tiago: The Punch dominated its respective segment, while the Tiago reinforced its position as a favorite in the hatchback category with robust growth.

The Launch of the Tata Sierra

A major highlight of Q3 FY26 was the launch of the highly anticipated Tata Sierra. According to Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., the Sierra has been “exceptionally well received” by consumers. This launch is a critical part of the company’s strategy to refresh its portfolio and maintain momentum into the final quarter of the fiscal year.
