2017 Honda Activa 125 Review: Midnight Blue Metallic
Honda Activa 125 is a 125cc scooter from Japanese 2 Wheeler maker’s Indian arm Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI). This 125cc scooter from Honda offers much greater performance when compared to its 110cc counterpart like Activa 4G ( Read Honda Activa 4G Review). Here we do a quick review of Honda Activa 125 scooter. The scooter which we picked is of Midnight Blue Metallic color variant from Dhruvdesh Honda showroom in Mekhri Circle, Bangalore.

2017 Honda Activa 125 First Impressions
The Activa 125 scooter is fat when compared to Activa 4G or Dio ( Read: Honda Dio Review). Unlike the graphic rich Honda Dio, the Activa 125 doesn’t come with any such extra graphics – the design is simple with a prominent Honda Activa 125 logo on its body. You can notice the BS4 badge indicating that the scooter’s HET engine is compliant with BS-IV Standard. Honda Activa 125 gets Always-On Automatic Headlamp (AHO) Just like any other scooter from Honda, Honda Activa 125 too borrows the best of stability, quality and ergonomics.

The all new Honda Activa 125 boasts of having LED Chrome Chest, where the LED position lights are arranged in a chest pattern. The front dashboard of Honda Activa 125 gets a digital analog meter – while the speedometer has a manual needle, the fuel indicator, trip meter is digital – so it is a combination of both digital and analog. The Digital meter is missing any other Honda scooters like Dio or Activa 4G.
The seats of Activa 125 are large enough to accommodate the rider comfortably and even the pillion rider. The area near the front wheel of Honda Activa 125 gets a stylish round reflectors that enhances the looks and adds more safety. You also get ample space in the front to hook a bag or carry small luggage box in the front.

As it is a 125cc scooter, obviously it outputs a pretty good power and torque figures. Activa 125 is powered by 125cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke SI engine which is capable of churning out 8.6bhp of power at 6500 rpm and 10.12Nm of peak torque at 5000 rpm. The Activa 125 offers you best of all features which is supposed to be offered by an automatic scooter. At the front Honda Activa 125 gets a disc brake which is hyper responsive and is mated to Honda’s proprietary advanced braking technology Combi-Braking System (CBS) . With the kind of power this scooter offers, disc braking comes to a saviour for smoothly hauting the scooter.
In addition to CBS, the Activa 125 gets a decent suspension system that shields you from city potholes and uneven terrains. Honda Activa 125 is equipped with front telescopic suspension that takes up all the impact like jerks and jumps.
Manoeuvring and handling the Activa 125 is easy. Even when a pillion rider is seated, quick turns can be done without much issue. You can get past the top speed of 100 Kmph, thanks to powerful 125cc HET engine. Honda Activa 125 offers a pretty optimal fuel efficiency.

Although it is slightly pricier than Activa 4G and Dio, you get all the extras like Analog Digital Speedometer, telescopic front suspension, front disc brakes and more. You also get ample storage space of 18 litres to store all the belongings and goods under the seat.
Honda Activa 125 gives a neck-to-neck fight to other scooters in the market like Suzuki Access 125, Aprilia SR150 in every aspect.
