Honda Activa 4G vs 5G – Design:
There hasn’t been any changes in the looks and design of 5G compared to 4G. The only new major change you will see is a LED headlamp with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) instead of the halogen one on 4G, and it’s not even noticeable. Even the tail lamp and side indicators are now LED in an effort to decrease battery consumption and offer greater visibility.
Coming to the side, only 1 thing changed, and you guessed it right, the name. Need i say it, you can see it reads Activa 5G.
If one were to keep them side by side you had be confused which one is which if it weren’t for the model badge along the side.

Honda Activa 4G vs 5G – Engine and Transmission:
Unfortunately, there haven’t been any changes in the Engine too. It might have been obvious since its just only one step up and the Activa 4G engine performance has been well received. The Activa 5G goes with the same single cylinder, 110cc 4 stroke petrol engine. The only difference being it now comes with HET technology. This may supposedly offer a good mileage, compared to the 4G’s 60 kmpl.
It might not come as a surprise to you but the brakes are still Drum based, instead of the Disc.
Honda Activa 4G vs Activa 5G – New Features:
There are very few new features that have been introduced to the 5G. Some of them being, an addition of a seat release switch just beside the ignition. This feature has been straight up copied from Honda Grazia.
In addition to these, you will also notice the instrument cluster is now Digitial-analog instead of 4G’s analog console. The only thing you will get to see in the digital console is Fuel economy indicator and Service due indicator.
For the shopper in you, Activa 5G also offers you a retractable rear hook apart from the front hook which is pretty much a standard on all the scooters.
Honda Activa 4G vs Activa 5G – Colors and Pricing:
In addition to the 7 colors already in 4G, 5G will offer 2 new color options namely Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red.
Honda Activa 5G will be priced at Rs. 52, 460 (ex-showroom Delhi). The STD (base) model of 5G is just 2k more than the 4G. Considering the features Honda has put into 5G, i think that is a good price.
Honda Activa 4G vs Activa 5G – Verdict:
Comparing the 2 its pretty much evident that apart from the LED lights, a digital console and a few minor changes here and there is not much of a difference between the duo. But since there is only a marginal price difference between the two, I think anyone looking out for a scooter in the 110cc segment should definitely get the Honda Activa 5G since there is nothing but positive responses for its engine performance.
