Powering the Future: Mahindra Charge_IN Redefines EV Travel with 180 kW Ultra-Fast Network

The electric vehicle revolution in India just received a high-voltage boost. Mahindra has officially inaugurated its pioneering Charge_IN network, a dedicated infrastructure project designed to eliminate range anxiety and make long-distance EV travel as effortless as driving a conventional car.

This isn’t just another charging network; it is a strategic move to build India’s high-speed EV backbone. With the deployment of 180 kW ultra-fast chargers, Mahindra is setting a new standard for speed and convenience on Indian highways.

Mahindra Ultra Fast Charging Network

A Vision for Seamless Highway Travel

The core philosophy behind Charge_IN is to “UNLIMIT” electric mobility. By the end of 2027, Mahindra aims to establish a robust network comprising 250 charging stations with over 1,000 individual charging points.

The rollout has already begun with two flagship stations now operational:

  • Hoskote: Located on NH 75, serving the critical Bengaluru – Chennai corridor.
  • Murthal: Situated on NH 44, approximately 50 km from Delhi, catering to north Indian travelers.

Each of these stations features two ultra-fast chargers capable of powering up four electric vehicles simultaneously, ensuring minimal waiting times for users.

Unmatched Speed and Convenience

What sets the Charge_IN network apart is its uncompromising focus on speed. The network will exclusively feature 180 kW dual-gun chargers, a significant upgrade over standard fast chargers.

For owners of Mahindra’s new electric SUV portfolio—including the XEV 9e, BE 6, and the upcoming XEV 9S—this translates to a rapid top-up. These vehicles can charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes, effectively aligning charging stops with a quick coffee break.

To further enhance the experience, all Charge_IN stations will be strategically co-located with wayside amenities such as restaurants and cafes. This ensures that while the car recharges, travelers can recharge themselves comfortably, making EV road trips practical and stress-free.

Open Access for All EV Owners

While the network is a boon for Mahindra owners, it is designed to be inclusive. The Charge_IN stations are open to electric vehicle owners of all brands.

  • Non-Mahindra Users: Can access the network via the “Charge_IN by Mahindra” app or through other leading aggregator platforms.
  • Mahindra Owners: Benefit from seamless integration through the Me4U app, which allows them to discover stations, charge, and pay effortlessly. The app currently provides access to approximately 34,000 public charging points across various operators.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., emphasized that this initiative is about building customer confidence. By ensuring that high-speed charging is accessible and reliable, Mahindra aims to accelerate India’s transition to sustainable transportation.
