Maruti Ignis launch confirmed on 13th January 2017
Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading car manufacturer has confirmed the launch date of their upcoming new car Ignis. Maruti Ignis launch will happen on 13th January 2017.
The all-new Maruti Ignis is going to be sold in Maruti Suzuki‘s premium NEXA Showrooms across India. Infact, the Ignis has already been listed on Nexa Experience’s official website. Maruti Ignis is going to be third model in NEXA’s product line after S-Cross and Baleno.
At the start, Ignis would be offered in Maruti Suzuki’s familiar 1.2 litre petrol engine (tried and tested). The manufacturer is also expected to bring the petrol hybrid and 1.3 litre diesel engine in India. The engine is mated to a manual transmission gearbox as standard and you can expect the AMT gearbox version going forward.
The all new Ignis from Maruti Suzuki would feature a new, premium interior that comes with a new switchgear, steering wheel, dashboard ( instrument cluster) and also sports floating infotainment screen that you see in cars from premium car brands like Mercedes-Benz.
Although the full feature set of Ignis has not been revealed, you can expect Maruti Ignis to come with projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps as well as SmartPlay infotainment system. The company shall also offer a good degree of customisation both for exteriors and interiors of the car.
Talking about the price, Expect Maruti Ignis to be priced at INR 5 Lakhs to 5.8 Lakhs. Maruti Ignis will essentially try to compete against the likes of small cars like Mahindra KUV100. Ignis is also going to be the entry level car for Nexa line-up.
