Uncompromising Performance and Engine Specs

At the heart of the new BMW M 1000 R lies a water-cooled inline 4-cylinder engine with a 999 cc capacity, derived directly from the RR engine.

  • Power Output: It produces a peak output of 210 hp (154 kW) at 13,750 rpm.
  • Torque: Generates a maximum torque of 113 Nm at 11,100 rpm.
  • Acceleration and Speed: The motorcycle sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 280 km/h.

The inclusion of BMW ShiftCam technology ensures a boost in pulling power and torque across low and medium speeds while increasing peak power. Improved track performance is further supported by a revised dynamic traction control (DTC) combined with an M Quick action throttle.

Aerodynamic Design and Features

The M 1000 R boasts an ultra-compact and extremely aggressive design language.

  • Lighting: The front profile is dominated by a new dual-flow LED headlight derived from the RR models, featuring an M logo integrated into the air intake.
  • Aerodynamics: M Winglets play a crucial role in the bike’s aerodynamics, producing significant downforce whether riding upright or leaning into corners. At 220 km/h, these refined black winglets increase the front-wheel load by 11 kg.
