Introduction
Suzuki 2 Wheelers in India is performing extremely well when it comes to scooter sales. Scooter products like Access 125, Burgman Street and Avenis has evolved over the time to deliver the best experience for its end users. Especially, Suzuki Access which has a longer history and it has built its reputation for being the most fuel-efficient scooter and for its sheer looks alone. The expectation is really high, when the world anticipates a new product from Suzuki. The Japanese two wheeler maker has now ventured into a new territory (the Electric Vehicles territory) by bringing in a new product called e-Access. The “e-Access” or the “electric Access” was first showcased at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, and now the e-Access is days away from the official launch in India. We received an exclusive invitation from Suzuki to experience the new e-Access scooter in Bengaluru in May 2025, and what follows below is our review of new Suzuki e-Access after the first media ride.

Style and Design: How does it look?
In terms of looks, the new e-Access doesn’t copy anything much from its petrol sibling Access 125. It feels like a new original design when you have a first glance at the product. At the outset, Suzuki e-Access looks like an everyday scooter and does not offer a very sporty or doesn’t incorporate any extreme or sporty styling like you would see in Ather Apex/450X or TVS X. It has got a simple and straight forward looks – In fact, Mr Kamal Arora, a member from e-Access’s product planning team told – “The Suzuki e-Access is designed for everyone, from the youth, to elderly, everyone should be able to access”.

The scooter receives a 2-tone treatment across its body at the front and under the seat. The Mat black color is prominently visible across the body whereas the Red can be seen at crown, around position lamps and at the rear seat. The vertically oriented LED position light on the face of e-Access looks great. LED lighting is added everywhere, be it in the headlight, position light and the taillights. There is a e-Access 3D emblem at the side.

When it comes to ergonomics, the seat offers good comfort for both the rider and the pillion. The seat is long and offers good amount of width offering sufficient space to sit.
Digital Console
In Suzuki’s language, the front display console is called as “Multi-Information Instrument Panel” which comes with colour TFT LCD Display which is of size 4.2 inches. It supports Day/Night mode and it switches the modes automatically. The rider can easily read the information presented – It does not offer a touch-screen and following LCD readouts are available – Speedometer, Battery Level, Odometer, Clock, Voltmeter, Average and Current Energy Consumption, Drive Mode indicator, Eco Drive illumination etc.

Suzuki offers Smartphone connectivity features like Navigation, Incoming Notifications, Weather updates and alerts etc using the bluetooth based Suzuki Ride connect app. It would have been great if Suzuki had offered full-screen map navigation (as in new Himalayan 450 Tripper dash) than turn-by-turn navigation. In addition to these, the digital console also offers things like last parked location, daily/monthly mileage, trip history, EV battery level, service alerts and digital wallet (to store driving licence etc)

Practicality
Let us talk about the practicality aspect of owning an electric scooter like Suzuki e-Access. Unlike Honda Activa e:, the under-seat storage / boot capacity of new Suzuki e-Access is 17 litres which is good enough to store small bags, a small half-faced helmet. The under-seat storage capacity is an important factor for urban commuters who primarily use scooter for day to day activities like shopping. A scooter offering lots of storage space is a natural and practical choice. Additionally the e-Access offers Inner left pocket where one can easily stack an half-litre bottle. There are also dual-utility hooks to secure items. The flat floor board and foot board feels the scooter is spacious enough and offers good riding comfort.

There is a multi-function rotatable switch in the front. All significant operations like locking/unlocking the scooter, opening the charging outlet, opening the seat – everything can be controlled from one single switch. The overall quality of switches are good, the fit and finish, paint quality is excellent, the build-quality is top-notch. The scooter also gets blue-lit USB charging point in the front – easy to charge smartphones on the go.

Battery, Motor, Specs and other tech details
What drives the scooter is a motor which is capable to deliver a peak power of 4.1 kW and a maximum torque of 15 Nm. The motor output is transmitted to rear wheel through belt. The entire system is well-protected as it is housed inside an aluminium casing. Suzuki is offering 7 years/70,000 kms warranty on belt drive.
Talking about the battery, Suzuki has introduced LFP battery of capacity 3.072 kWh for e-Access. It is a fixed battery type. The performance and durability of LFP battery is better when compared with NMC battery also the company believes it should be able to offer same performance and no battery degradation overtime. Suzuki is reportedly offering 7 year warranty on the battery.

Top EV from E2Ws | Top Speed | IDC Range |
---|---|---|
Suzuki e-Access | 71 Kmph | 95 Kms |

Ather Rizta (3.7 kWh) | 80 kmph | 159 Kms |
TVS iQube | 82 Kmph | 212 Kms |
Bajaj Chetak | 73 Kmph | 153 Kms |
Honda Activa e: | 80 Kmph | 110 Kms |

Ride and Handling
Suzuki e-Access being an electric scooter starts and moves silently. There is no noticeable sound when the scooter is moving – you do hear noise from the belt and motor as and when you accelerate hard, but it is not as noticeable as you hear it from Ather scooters like 450X. The scooter offers good amount of handling and can maneuver at tight places comfortably. During our 30 minute drive in a Bengaluru track, the scooter remained fully stable and sturdy even when the scooter was forced to take on abrupt speed breakers.

By default, Suzuki e-Access offers eco mode where one can maximum reach upto a top speed of 55 kmph. There are 2 other modes which are on offer – Ride A and Ride B. When Ride A mode is activated, the regenerative braking kicks in intensely when scooter is decelerating… Where as in Ride B mode the regen is set to lower level. Both these Ride A and Ride B modes can offer a maximum top speed of 71 kmph and it can be accessed using the mode button. One has to completely hault the scooter and long press the mode button to toggle between Ride A and Ride B mode. Since the track where we tested was small, we couldn’t comprehensively test the actual speed of the scooter in Ride A and Ride B. But overall, the ride quality was excellent and we didn’t notice any sudden drop in range despite riding continuously in loops – Thanks to LFP battery technology.

Brakes and Suspension
Suzuki e-Access gets a 12 inch alloy wheels that are stylish looking. There is a 190 mm disc brake in the front which is very responsive and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. When you use the left lever for braking, the combined braking system kicks-in offering a very good stoppage by distributing the braking power equally to both the wheels.
The suspension system is top quality, with telescopic setup in the front and spring coil suspension at the rear. It takes all the vibrations and offers a good amount of riding comfort on patchy roads.

Colors on offer
The all new Suzuki e-Access is offered in 3 attractive colors namely: Mat Black with Bordeaux Red, Pearl Grace White with Fibroin Grey and Jade Green with Fibroin Grey. Check all Suzuki e-Access Colors.

Service Network
Suzuki 2 Wheelers has good number of service centres across all major cities including Bangalore. Suzuki says it will offer DC charging facility ( Fast charging facility) at all their outlets soon.

Who should buy the e-Access?
The exact price of Suzuki e-Access is not known at the time of writing this article. The e-Access is a great buy for someone who is looking to buy a reliable e-scooter from a very well known brand. The Japanese technology adds extra confidence, Team Suzuki in their press presentation stressed multiple times on how the new e-Access electric scooter has undergone intense testing (submerge test, hot/cold test, battery puncture test etc) like the way it follows similar process for high-end motorcycles like Hayabusa. The e-Access could be a great choice for across age and who is willing to start their electric journey.

Verdict
While a little short on range (95 kms), the use of LFP battery, the 7 year battery warranty, 7 year belt-drive warranty etc boosts confidence in the product. Suzuki has also done good amount of work in bringing the updated connectivity features to e-Access which should appeal younger generation. The things which go in favour of Suzuki e-Access is their choice of fixed battery plus also offering decent amount of underseat storage. The overall product quality, Suzuki technology and riding on the success of Access scooters in the past, definitely adds up. If Suzuki prices the e-Access well, it can clock very good numbers and consumers would love it.
