The all new upcoming Kia Soul EV will be likely making an official presence in India tomorrow as part of an MoU between AP Government, India and Kia Motors India in growing the uptake of electric vehicles (EV) and the development of a local EV infrastructure. The all new Kia Soul EV was last seen in LA Motor show and is also expected to be in the production form this year in Europe.
In December 2018 , Kia gifted Niro EV model to AP Govt to drive future eco-mobility where in it showcased Niro Hybrid, Niro Plug-in Hybrid and a Niro EV.
Kia’s ‘ACE’ strategy – to produce Autonomous, Connected and ECO/Electric cars – will see the brand adopt connected car technologies across every vehicle segment by 2030. Kia Motors India will be making a public announcement and has scheduled “Trial Production Cermony” of its manufacturing facility in Ananthpur, Andhra Pradesh on 29th January 2019. The company plans to offer 16 electrified vehicles to India by 2025.
The company continues to invest in the development and commercialization of autonomous driving and eco-friendly vehicles.
Kia is anxiously waiting to enter India by bringing the much awaited SP2i SUV model to India. The SP2 concept which was first showcased at Auto Expo 2018 will soon be a reality in 2nd half of 2019. The brand Kia is now getting used to India through its aggressive marketing campaigns – The recent TV commercial that shows Kia Sportgage (Are you ready for Kia?), association with Australian open by sending Indian ball kids and partnering with Bengaluru FC are some of the examples.
Kia SP2i, the upcoming SUV will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and Nissan Kicks.
