It’s all ups and downs in the industry – motorcycle sales going up than scooters. TVS times the Radeon motorcycle launch quite well to grab this opportunity. Launched in August 2018, we are finally here with the newly launched TVS Radeon – the latest entry-level TVS bike. How good is the bike? Can it dent the Splendor’s supremacy? Read on to know more.
First Impressions
Thanks to TVS PR team and Tristar TVS, Domlur for handing over the motorcycle on time. The all new 2019 TVS Radeon in Pearl White color is what we got for testing. At the first glance, Radeon looks strictly commuting motorcycle with lots of shiny chrome things around – It is of course simple in looks but grabs attention because of chrome usage everywhere – on the grab rails, front guard, side handles, around the headlamps, near the rear suspension. The TVS logo, Radeon logo everything glitters with chrome acsents.
Design, Looks, Features
Let us go in detail about the design and how the new Radeon looks. The TVS coined “Chrome Bezel Headlamp with DRL” is one of the primary attraction. The LED DRL(Day-time running Lamps) is pretty bright than you expect. Interestingly the White DRLs will be ON as soon as the motorcycle is started and the headlamp wont lit unless you turn on explicitly unlike TVS Sport where the AHO sets the headlamp ON all the time.
The TVS Radeon comes with Self-start option and also offers one of the modern features – “Mobile USB Charging” in the front – this is one of the reason why we chose the name “Modern Splendor”. The Ribbed thigh pads at the sides of motorcycle is another highlight and gives the bike a very classic look. Radeon campaign talks about the “Car Like Speedometer” , but we didn’t find anything that resembles car speedometer. We must admit the front dashboard with Speedometer did have a bright icons and neatly aligned layout with chrome around.
The front dashboard of TVS Radeon features a side-stand indicator. The motorcycle also beeps until the side stand is lifted – this is quite annoying sound but it justifies the additional safety measure for the rider.
The alloy wheels are big – 18 inch. The seats are nicely threaded and look premium because of its color. The seats are cushiony and are wider as well to comfortably seat yourself and a pillion rider at the back.
Engine, Performance, Dimensions
The all new TVS Radeon is powered by 4 Stroke Dura-life 110cc Engine which does it duties quite well. There is a bit of sound in engine, but you will get used to it. Radeon’s 110cc engine is quite capable and generates power upto 8.4 PS and yields 8.7Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission gearbox. The gearbox is refined and smooth and works pretty well.
Talking about the dimensions, the all new 2019 TVS Radeon wights 112 Kgs. TVS Radeon measures 705mm in width, 2006mm in length, 1070mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1265mm. TVS Radeon Ground clearance is 180mm which gets it going even on bumpy hump. The seat height of Radeon is also suits a short rider.
The fuel tank capacity of TVS Radeon is 10 litres which includes 1.5 litres reserve.
Ride and Handling
TVS Radeon did well in riding department although we felt a bit lagginess in pick-up. It all goes good once its up and moving. Turning through 90 degree curves were not that easy, as the handle movement was too smooth that makes a rider pay attention until the handle is brought back to original position. Maneuvering through traffic, without traffic, on highways, on city roads was easy and nice with and without pillion rider.
TVS Radeon features Telescopic oil damped front suspension in the front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber in the rear which helps in suspension duties of the motorcycle. TVS Radeon motorcycle gets drum brakes both in front and rear. The braking was responsive, thanks to SBT (Synchronous Braking Technology) which is now a norm for all motorcycles below 125cc.
With one full tank fuel we covered more than 500 Kilometer with a litre left in reserve. TVS Radeon mileage is above 55-60 Kmpl easily without any issue on any pattern of riding.
TVS Radeon Colors
The all new TVS Radeon is offered in 4 attractive color options namely:
- White (Pearl White)
- Black (Metal Black)
- Purple (Royal Purple)
- Cream (Golden Beige)

TVS Radeon Price
The all new TVS Radeon motorcycle is priced at Rs 50,540 (Ex-showroom Bangalore). The ex-showroom and on-road price depends on the city where you live and on state rates applicable. In Bangalore, it should cost you about 57,000 including 5 year insurance and mandatory accessories.
TVS Radeon Verdict
For the features which TVS Radeon offers, and for being the latest 110cc motorcycle to offer good mileage, performance, extra add-ons like USB charging, “chrome-everywhere” design and pleasant colors, the ex-showroom price of Rs 50,540 is very justify-able. TVS Radeon is a good buy for its value-for-money and for the modern features which it offers. TVS definitely has gone one bar up to take on supremacy of Hero Splendor motorcycle in 110cc category.
